Geithner: Action against Wall St. coming
By: Tim Mak October 14, 2011 10:51 AM EDT
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner suggested Friday that a new round of dramatic enforcement actions against Wall Street wrongdoing is coming.
Stay tuned for that, Geithner said.
Asked on CNBC about the Occupy Wall Street movements frustrations over the lack of criminal charges related to the financial crisis, Geithner said action is on the way.
Youve seen very, very dramatic enforcement actions already by the enforcement authorities across the U.S. government, and Im sure youre going to see more to come. You should stay tuned for that, he said.
Progressive groups have often pushed for Wall Street CEOs to be prosecuted for the financial crisis of 2008.
I think there are some investigations hopefully, they will lead to criminal charges, but what I think the average American is saying is that if a kid smokes marijuana, that kid could end up in jail. These people [on Wall Street], because of their activity, destroyed the economy. Millions of people lost their jobs, their homes, their life savings, and now theyre making more than they ever did before, said independent Rep. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) last month on CNN.
Geithner Friday said the Obama administration had moved swiftly after the crisis to put into place new protections for consumers and investors.
We moved very quickly to put in place a much stronger set of rules of the game across the financial sector. Now, were now facing a lot of resistance to those rules, but were going to make sure that we deliver the promise of those reforms, which is a much tougher set of rules across the system against risk-taking and much stronger protections for consumers, he said.

“No matter we must demonstrably weaken the Central Government to the point it is controllable by the States, by the people, not the various smug Leftist entities of the day.”
AGREED!
If you’re unsure who’s on the hit list, just check political donations.
No Dem supporter will be on the list.
SEC violations galore.
They're criminals, dude. Get over it. They're just Too Big To Be Prosecuted.

Many conservatives are clueless about the massive wave of unprosecuted Wall Street Bankster criminality. Billy "CrimBoy" Clinton has got NOTHING on these guys.
If I was "Wall St." (good grief, these liberal commie idiots don't get that their alinsky rules are the same tactics as Hitler in 'freezing and polarizing' their target), this would be EXHIBIT A in my defense .....
It’s a twofer.. shakedown for more campaign cash and appease their nut case base.
Most of the economy has been “staying tuned” since 2008.
You mean they’ve waited until Obama’s ratings are in the toilet and slighty over a year before the next presidential election? Why is that?
When one understands how the demonic co operates with each other it’s easy to see through what is going on.
Let me explain...
The government knew that giving bailouts to banks and corporations would lead to greedy people at the top of banks and corporations to pad their own pockets with the bail out money.(like giving crack to a drug addict)
Now the demonic government will come in and punish the banks and corporations for stealing money that both the government and the banks both knew would happen.
Many young people and people who have been financially crushed by this (who don’t know better)will praise the government for cracking down on the banks and corporations and embrace big government as a savior.
Communism #101!
Just to add one more thing....
Just as Christians are willing to sacrifice themselves for the love of others, the demonic are willing to sacrifice themselves for an evil cause, thus, those who will be prosecuted for stealing the bail out money will be thought of as martyrs by the evil one.
Who is "they"?
The Big Banks BOUGHT the government years ago. All that's going on is a big Kabuki dance.
Obama and his DOJ, led by his guy Eric Holder. You know, the people who were supposed to find and prosecute all those Wall Street felons out there back in 2009.
