To summarize....... 3 weeks vacation after first year, 4 1/2 days 'personal holidays', 9 paid holidays, and 16.25 days of sick pay each year, of which they can 'bank' any unused sick days until they retire, at which time they can get paid thosedays at their wage at time of retirement or use the money for health care (allowed to retire at 55 so have to wait 10 years before they can suck off Medicare).

Adding all the time off for vacation, sick time, 'personal holidays', and paid holidays and you get after ONE Year 44.75 days paid for doing nothing. That is equivelant to almost 9 weeks time off.

Yep, it is obsene. My ex works for the state and is constantly harassing me about voting democrat because he may lose his many benefits. It makes me crazy. I would love to have the paid time off that he has. I just loss 3 days of PTO because everyone in our household was sick. My hubby is deployed so I had to take the time off to take care of the kids. I get 2 weeks of vacation every year. Almost every year it gets depleted because of sicknesses or appointments. My hubby and I were really banking on finally having a vacation together next summer to reward ourselves for getting through this deployment. I don’t think I’ll have any vacation days left over once he gets back. Maybe I should go work for the state!

Can unused vacation time be converted to either additional service credit or increased salary for retirement? The vacation time is staggering. Combine the vacation time with civil service protections and it is surprising that any work gets done.

NOW I see how they have so much time to spend at the various "protests" they seem to be at all of the time...

They can take as much vacation as I get, and STILL have 6 weeks left over for protesting...

Parasites.
