“...the mayor of Atlanta is giving them until Monday to leave...”
-
The occupy Atlanta group made several mistakes and one astounding blunder.

They chose to occupy a park that is normally already occupied by homeless folks.
It is also not in a very high profile area.
Because of the homeless, that park also has well established city ordinances against camping and the park is also closed at night.

All that being said, it was unwise to go to downtown Atlanta and show (whether real or perceived) disrespect for John Lewis.
You just don’t do that.
(this goes especially a bunch of young white kids)

They lost favor with all their potential political allies pretty quickly after that.
Not one single local public figure will say a word in defense of the occupy Atlanta crowd, now,
since that would make them appear to be anti John Lewis.

Thanks for filling in the rest of the pertinent information.

When the one young man “the block” spoke against Lewis, there was one young woman who spoke up for Lewis and asked for him to speak. She knew who he was and even stated that he was Rep. John Lewis. The rest didn’t care.

Maybe, in the end, all of this “occupy wallstreet” will end, because of the youth’s ignorance.

One thing I do know... this is NOT going to be a national party, like the TeaParty, no matter how fervently Christiane Amanpour wishes that it will be.
