The nations trade deficit held steady at $45.6 billion in August from the prior month, the Commerce Department said. The trade gap in July was revised up from the initial estimate of $44.8 billion.
The deficit in August was close to the consensus of analysts surveyed by MarketWatch.

This is unacceptable.
This is what happens because of “free trade”.
Any “conservative” who finds this alarming, likes to TALK about reading Friedman, Sowell, & Williams, but in reality never has.
I’m all for free markets - to the point that I think even our trading partners currencies should trade on one.
I am old enough to remember, when I was very young, going to stores and seeing stuff that said:
“Made In USA”
its not free trade, but because US is uncompetitive because of taxes and regulation
