You seem to be under the delusion that the msm has been reporting every day on “gunwalker” and Solindra, etc.
The general public is in the dark, so how could this story be some kind of diversion for something the general public doesn’t even know about?

Under no delusion here nuconvert. Not at all. You apparently missed the article(s) about the “New Media” having become on par with the MSM in reaching the public.

It was reported here at FRee Republic in several articles within the past few months actually that the “New Media”, and the MSM share a 50/50% readership today. A marked improvement over past years. The “New Media” is maturing.

That is cause for concern for those to now having been reliant upon the dominance of the MSM.

It is because of that impressive power of the “New Media” today I believe that led to CBS to jump in on the “Gunwalker” exposure. Perhaps FOX also has something to do with it as they too have heavy exposure in the “New Media”.

No delusions, just read FRee Republic Morning, Noon, and Nights when I have the chance between chores. I know I don’t see everything, but I read a lot of what is posted here, and retain what I read to connect the dots, and make my opinions.

By golly, that's an excellent point that you make, as usual. However, as a recovering communications professional, I might reply (if you were a paying client) that this story is lurking just under the surface.

Just the time to justify the retainer with a pre-emptive strike. What I really wonder is who is going to be the first Republican primary hustler to have the nerve to mention it?

From the Department of Sad and Eternal Factoids:The Republicans are always behind the PR curve. "The party of business," knows less about effective PR and Advertising than the most low-down used car dealer in your town. They pay hundreds of millions to the likes of idiot-savant Karl R, to keep them that way.
