They expose themselves with the meme of the "flavor-of-the-month," which they seek to create by headhunting whoever is in the lead this week. Right now is Cain's turn in the barrel. If he can outlast it, he can win. It's that simple.
I can understand that. But I would also argue that Cain is going to need big money to overcome the current presumption or Romney's inevitablity. The longer she waits, the less money Cain gets. And as for Perry, it is time for him to give it up. It was short-lived and although it will probably be embarrassing for him, the welfare of the nation is at stake. He is unelectable and IMHO always has been.
Sarah can have the influence she desires, but the time is short. With all the primaries scrambling to move themselves up, who knows, we could see primaries before Thanksgiving.

Romney flat like usual, Cain continues to gain.
He's learned to be a great CEO ~ he looks around, finds good people (mostly) to surround him, and he deduces what issues are important and sends his people out to deal with them.
Sometimes he really screws up and decides to "take care of this mysef'" ~ Gardasil and instate tuition ~ both situations where he should have had cooler heads working on the deal LONG before it went public.
He's probably learned he doesn't want to do that again ~ but if it makes him timid he'll be out as Governor before he gets a shot at running for Senate.
Cain is one of these guys who is also a good top executive. He knows the position of the guys at the bottom, in the middle, the related small business entrepreneurs, the coordinated large business interests, and so on. You get your good people. You spin off the ideas. They do the work and get things going. Other ideas come up through the ranks. You get those spun off to the right sectors to get them taken care of.
Michelle Bachmann is a little closer to the grind because her business interests are smaller, but she sounds like Perry and Cain when it comes to management.
They are all three EISENHOWER types ~
Obama is more like a young lawyer fresh out of college who didn't get picked by a major lawfirm so he's in there doing his "break in" period in the government.
You don't run a guy like that for President but the Democrats seem to prefer them. Hillary is like that too.
I can live with Perry, Cain or Bachmann. On the other hand, I hate being part of a 20% minority in the context of the Republican party.

Less than 25% of Republican voters are liberal moderates. That's all the votes Romney will ever get, in the primary or in the general election.
I don’t think Cain needs her help. He’s got plenty of momentum. I can see Palin coming in later to help raise money for his campaign. If she endorses too early, the media will claim her judgement is flawed, as usual, and it may not be the best political move.
With the primaries all moving up to the point that we may see some in November, the time for money is now.
I feel the same way. But remember, Reagan took on the Rockefeller Republicans and won. It can be done. But it is going to take a lot of support from us, the meat and potatoes crowd.
