Yes, the French Revolution was bloody. It was a revolution against a monarchy and aristocrats and once the guillotine got buzzing, it ate up everyone in sight. People ratted out each other with lies and suspicions. It didn't redistribute the wealth; it destroyed the wealth for everyone, and we aren't even talking capitalism.

I lived through the hippies of the 60's. Now the survivors are all tenured profs at our universities and have reincarnated themselves in these nutjobs. Where are the citizens who are trying to work and carry on their lives? The media is so busy promoting this occupy bunch, they don't even talk about anything else.

To me it's surreal. On SNL last weekend they were trying to ridicule conservatives for saying that these bozos were not the same thing as the Tea Party. I had to leave the room ... it was like Pravda. I do notice that people - that is liberals - are kind of quiet about the whole thing. I could almost believe they aren't really going along with it.
