If you can’t debate, you can’t beat Obama. Look at the dismal failure of John McCain. His communication skills were horrible. Newt Gingrich absolutely dominates every time he speaks. Even Rick Pery stands there nodding in approval. We need someone who can crush Obama on the national stage.

I guess winning the Presidency isn’t his strong suit either. What exactly did this dope think he was getting involved with exactly? This is the most unbelievable collapse I have ever seen of a top tier candidate ever.

"Debates are not my strong suit,"

Uh, that's what NIXON said in 1960. How'd that turn out?

For someone who wants to be the leader of the free world, being a poor debater is a deal breaker.

Political leaders debate and explain their positions. They argue in the market place of ideas for the agenda and values that guide their philosophy.

Debate is like breathing for a political leader.

I really don’t want Romney, but if Perry can’t win arguments in a debate, who can he win when the Dems start asking difficult questions?

But he knew that before he entered. And I’m sure he learned not to trust his fellow conservative - like MB. He should have encouraged Sarah to enter instead of him using his ego instead of his head to seek elections that require debates. He turned his back on his really ally and ends up blowing in the wind. Why didn’t he know MB was a buffer for Mitt? I saw that right away. She has absolutely no accomplishments - he didn’t question why is she in the race?

Perry will never be as smooth as Romney (whose been running for 5 years already) or Cain (a motivational speaker and radio talk show host), and certainly not Newt (who is?) but I think he did OK tonight, certainly better than before. The coaching helped.

As a campaigner, out among the people Perry is very good (listens, relates) and he can give a good speech. Certainly doesn't need a teleprompter

There are 12 year old debaters who are better at it than Rick Perry. Let’s vote for one of them, the best one, of course, if that’s what the game is about!

This is strange. People used to say that Perry was a master debater.

I think we need to remember that Obama can’t debate either. Oh, he can give a good speech (with a teleprompter) but he can’t answer questions worth a darn and has made plenty of mis-speaks. Remember “corpseman”?

What do y’all think - I have no plans to vote if some RINO like Romney is the nominee.

I’d rather Obama win and the curtain be pulled back for real, while going Galt.

"Debates are not my strong suit,"

He folds when communicating thoughts and composing answers?

What's he going to do in national televised press conference when the really difficult questions happen?

"Debates are not my strong suit"

This is like Indy car driver saying, "Racing and going fast are not my strong suit"
