Rush: Perry the only conservative threat to Romney
The Examiner ^ | October.11,2011 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 10/11/2011 10:04:19 PM PDT by Reagan Man

On his radio program this afternoon, Rush Limbaugh said that Christie's endorsment of Romney is proof that the GOP establishment is "desperate" for Romney to be the Republican nominee.

"They're doing everything they can to make sure -- you know, Bachmann, Santorum, they're not in the top tier now, but they want to make sure they stay there." Limbaugh said, "Perry is the only genuine conservative threat to Romney, and this is an effort to take him out."

Limbaugh added that "the thinking" on Herman Cain is that he does not have enough organization or money to compete with Romney.

"They don't even want to go through the primary process. They want to force people out." Limbaugh concluded, "They want Bachmann to quit. They want Santorum to quit. They want Cain to get outta here. Well, he's not going to for a while. They want Perry to finally throw in the towel. They want everybody to realize they don't have a prayer. It's Romney."

Well, we’re each entitled to our opinions. I disagree with yours.

I don’t have to ping my posse to express mine, though.

Then again, I come from south of the Mason-Dixon line. ;-)

What part of Billy’s post do you disagree with ? Just curious.

I would think it would be obvious. It’s not as if Billy Boy’s post is multi-faceted.

Take the attempted gang-up game elsewhere. That sort of tactic is useless on me.

While you’ve formed an unfavorable opinion of Perry, others have become more impressed. I thought he handled himself well tonight. He kept his cool and acted like a gentlemen when Karen Tumulty was disgusting in manner and looks when she questioned him. She asked him a question, interrupted him, and gave her own liberal biased answer. When she finished her vitriolic attack, he quietly answered the question with the correct answer. Newt even agreed with one of his answers. In my opinion, Romney is becoming more impressed with himself, and it was even manifested in his actions last night after Christy endorsed him. Governor Jindal of LA. has endorsed Perry, and I find him to be more conservative than Christy!

Perry is as much of a flip flopping politician as Romney plus he’s one that can be bought with big money.

Well Rush is Captian Obvious now.

Cain and Romney are the more of the same, backslapping Rino guys. Perry isn’t much better, but he’s more a conservative than Romney and Cain. There is a reason why the GOP establishment wants to keep him out. He’s not a robot.

Sell your propaganda elsewhere.

Now that's funny. You go to a pro-Perry thread and post about half the replies, with nothing constructive or instructive to say, just "Waaah! Illegal immigration! Waah! Gardisil! Not coservative! Ricarco! RINO!" etc., etc. Then you tell people who are having an actual converstion to take it someplace else.

Why don't you start a thread for whoever you support and post to yourself there.

No, it isn’t obvious, it was a straightforward question. Why would you think I’m ganging up on you ? Have I ever done so with you before ?

Romney is the dumbocrats’ nightmare because he splits the liberal vote.

yeah, that good ‘ol flip flopper couldn’t wait to backtrack on amnesty oh...please. One of the reasons he’s been dragged through the coals is because he wouldn’t renounce his position for political gain. That’s one reason i like him. Not his position on it but he’s being more truthful then any other candidate is being on that stage.

Ah well...let’s hear people say we should back Cain who will not tear into Romney anything near what he’ll do to others and cannot put together an opposition to beat Romney because contrary to belief around here...it takes money and small donors aren’t going to cut it. There is a reason the establishment has ripped Perry to shreds and a reason why all the rest on stage are protecting Romney. And it’s not because he’s an easily controlled RINO.

Right now Romney is on course to win and conservatives are helping him cruise to that nomination.

Really? Romney has flip-flopped on guns, abortion, healthcare, global warming, to name a few off the top of my head. Please tell me some comparable issues Perry has flip-flopped on. Please name one where he did so for money.

The things that Romney has flipped on are RomneyCare, the right to life, marriage as one man, one woman.

The things that Perry has flipped on are Trans Texas Corridor and an Executive Order on Gardasil.

Very good list that documents the Conservative way that Rick Perry has governed.

Post #76 takes on some of his flip-flops, but Perry is now being hailed as a great conservative when in 2007 he was being dissed in Texas as a RINO.

That’s when Perry raised business taxes 10 percent.

Guardasil remains an issue where its dead obvious that money was connected to the issue.

Perry supporters talk about the establishment beating up on him, well it seems that Bachmann took the beating from Perry’s supporters for daring to note that.

To: Windflier; Psalm 144
Psalm 144, don't forget that the "Establishment Republicans" begged Perry into getting into the race to bring Bachmann down.
Perry is purely an "Establishment" pawn, and his stand on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION clearly points out how against conservatives he is.
Perry's immunization "mistake" was what he wanted. He has no respect for personal liberty.
He'll step on individual rights in a heart beat, if he thinks it benefits his own power.
Perry's bad news, and even if his on the V.P. side of the ticket, he's a "stay at home" message to me, DITO Romney, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, and Gary Johnson.

Windflier, I couldn't agree with you any more stronger, if I tried.
But you realize that to correct the problem, the conservative who takes the White House, with 60 Senate conservatives, and a massive majority in the House,
MUST replace almost ALL federal Judges, and attorneys, so we can prosecute these criminals.
The ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT IN CHIEF and all his COMMUNISTS minions in his cabinet must be prosecuted for their assaults against the Constitution of the United States.
We must lock them up and throw away the key.
We must confiscate their property and sell it to pay off the national debt.
If we do that most of them will flee the country with their wealth (read our tax dollars) before we can lock them up.
But it must be done.

So, does Perry OPPOSE abortion, like Reagan?
