A century ago it was the Armenians and other Christians in Turkey. Now it is the turn of the Copts, the Chaldeans, the Maronites and others. The last Christians are being cleansed from the Middle East, on our watch.
You’re exactly right. But the last ethnic cleansing was more recent—1922. Smyrna—home to Greeks since 1000 BC, birthplace of Western philosophy and art—was burned in mid-Sept. 120,000 were killed, mostly Armenians. Over 1.25 million Christians were expelled. We watched the sacking and burning of Smyrna from our destroyers in the harbor.
