ANN COULTER, AUTHOR: It's a good ad. It's probably Romney's biggest problem, and that was a very strong ad, though I must say there are differences between doing it just in a state and doing it nationally. You can leave a state. You can't leave the country, or at least not quite as easy.
And the other thing is, I mean, the country has spoken. They do not want national health care. Romney himself has said, whatever he says about -- about what he did in Massachusetts, he says his first day in office, he will issue 50 state waivers to Obamacare, every state. We don't have to worry about him making that mistake again.
What it reminds Republicans -- but I think we all knew this -- is that he's not a pure free-marketeer. The Heritage Foundation, by the way, signed off on Romneycare and also in a small defense of Romneycare, though it is not a free market solution. A governor is limited in the solutions he can come up with because of federal laws requiring that hospitals treat anyone who comes to their door, including strings of illegal immigrants with sniffles or who think they're getting a cold. That was the problem Romney was dealing with as a governor.
The problem generally with Obamacare and Romneycare is that they are responding to problems that were created by government intervention in the first place.
INGRAHAM: Right.
COULTER: Yet, at least in the case of Romneycare, he was responding to government problems created by the federal government and not the state government. So it is more defensible.

She then claims that Governor Perry would give illegal aliens amnesty, in direct opposition to how he's governed and what he's written and said, consistently.
More on Ann Coulter’s wrong pick on the Republican nominee: full pass for Romney, and lies about Governor Perry.
Ann Coulter is proff that there is nobody on this planet with which I agree 100%.
Ann Coulter is proof that there is nobody on this planet with which I agree 100%.
Ann Coulter is proof that there is nobody on this planet with whom I agree 100%.
She’s just shooting off her mouth.
I guess now that Christie has endorsed Romney, she will regularly be lying about Gov. Perry’s positions.
Spot the differences between the three posts. It’s my “edit post” solution. :-p
“You can leave a state”. Perfect, Ann. You’re endorsing a guy who’s greatest achievement is so detestable to Conservatives that they may want to physically leave their beloved state to avoid his policy. And we can do no better?
Perry granted illegal aliens in-state tuition. He opposed the Arizona law on illegal aliens. He tends to be further left on most issues than I am.
I would vote for either of them over Obama, but I would prefer Bachman or Cain.
That’s an ugly thing to say. We can disagree with people, even call them on their lies, but let’s don’t use ugly insinuations, please!
From the Governor, could have been written about RomneyCare:
Who, pray tell, is yelling Stop today? It sure isnt Washington Republicans. Now, dont misunderstand methese days, I believe there is generally no question about which party to support. I am a proud, albeit frustrated, Republican. I am frustrated because Republicans have so often been part of the problem in Washington, rather than standing on principle to give voice to the American people. We should not endeavor to be better than Democrats only by defaultthat is, Democrat Lite. Rather we should endeavor to demonstrate that we believe in something bigger than ourselves.
I realize I will take some heat for pointing this out. Much is made by establishment Republicans of the so-called eleventh commandment, one sentence uttered by Reagan in 1976: Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.14 Well, I love and respect the Gipper as much as the next American and agree that Republicans should support one another, but he also said, Presidents come and go. History comes and goes, but principles endure. The truth is that in the face of a constant drumbeat to centralize power in Washington, Republicans too often either sit on the sidelines or actually make the problem worse. pp. 140-141

“””he will issue 50 state waivers to Obamacare”””
Issuing waivers is Romney’s Liberal RINO code talk for saying that he really does like Socialized Medicine and he will do nothing to help repeal ObamaCare.
Romney needs to be removed from the upper tier candidates.
Even if Romney were to provide 50 state waivers, it still wouldn’t change the fact that the law creates over 100 new government agencies, diverts money from Medicare to Obamacare, and raises taxes. The only way to fix this is to repeal the law.
Not only that, but Coulter was all in for Christie to run and claimed Christie is not RINO, then,
after Christie said no, she said in talk show interviews that she is going to support Romney.
As far as Cain, she didn’t opine on him (that I heard, anyways), but why should she bother with Cain when she can have Romney and maybe get Cain, too.
And Cain has said of Mitt:
“Romney ia good choice, but I believe he can’t win”.
In that interview, Cain went on to critique Romney’s candidacy on only a single point...that Romney’s Mormonism is so unpopular in the South he’s not politically viable there.
Also in the interview he mentions that he, Cain, is Baptist. Nice touch, Mr. Cain, to remind Southerners that unlike Mitt, he’s not Mormon, he’s Baptist. While at the same time, saying Romney “is a good choice” but can’t win with his religion.
How nice. Put Cain on Romney’s ticket, or vice versa, and you’ve got geographic and religious balance.
Add to that, Cain says he is open to Romney as his VP, and open to being anybody’s VP except Perry’s.
What a neat package! /sarc
Why is the leading Tea Party candidate so ok with Romney?????????????????????
I won’t get into whether Romneycare was a good or a bad idea. It’s pretty much irrelevant.
This is, or should be, a constitutional issue.
And there is absolutely nothing unconstitutional about a state deciding to establish a public health care system.
