We basically accused them of an act of war. You dont say that kind of stuff and then go on to life as usual. First I agree with you 100% but remember that storming an embassy is an act of war also and the Carter administration went on with life as usual during the Iranian hostage situation.

I think Holder, et al., just made this up out of thin air.

Just watched the news conference...
They say they have proof, and just tied this directly to the Iranian government
distraction for Holder or not - this is a pretty serious accusation

I’m not sure which I’m most skeptical of now — Zero’s birth certificate or this “terrorist plot.” Hmmmmm....

I’m with you in spirit, but this was not a “technically US soil” thing. This was IN the US. That is perceived as something quite different. For one thing, it’s a lot easier for them to storm an embassy in their own country vs ship the activity over here. It ramps it up considerably no matter how you slice it.

I remember a similar situation didn’t help Bush I. He was unbeatable after Kuwait. Clinton won based on the economy. Unless Zero has a magic wand, the economy has him in the cross hairs.

I agree that it’s a serious accusation, but going to war against Iran just isn’t in Obama’s DNA. He’ll treat this as a criminal case and give Khamenei a good scolding. A speech is in the offing, I believe.

“This is much more serious than that.”
Of course it is. What is most important is how we respond. Will we issue a strongly worded letter or let the missiles fly? Will it be diplomatic channels, or laser targeted munitions?
Maybe the UN can hold a vote of disapproval...
Sad.

DEA? Were the Iranian nutjobs going to drug the Saudi and Israeli embassy personnel?
I guess using BATFE would have been too obvious a distraction from their “issues”.

By all means if this is true it is far worse than the storming of the embassy in Iran. I was just referring to the act of war consideration. It will be interesting watching this unfold in the coming weeks. I predict that there is a excellent chance this administrations screws this up badly as did Jimmy Carter.

More outreach. More dialogue.
But no preconditions (Obama’s grand diplomatic plan).

"Just watched the news conference... You beleive them just because they had a press conference? So were they just as willing to give up the "evidence" for this as they are/were for F&F?
I am so glad that Wendy's brought back the "Where's the Beef" advertsing campaign.

According to SkyNews:
Mr Holder said the US government would be taking unspecified action against the Iranian government. He said the Justice Department was not accusing the top echelons of the government of blessing the operation.
Hot and cold at the same time.

Obama will DO NOTHING.
It's as certain as the day is long.
He is strategically invested in peace with Iran.
The greater question is what will we hear from the GOP POTUS candidates and the Congress. The MAY be able to prompt a strong talking-to by our current POS...er...POTUS.
