Know the realities; but think the truth is that Repubs could fashion a better outcome; but know too; that will not happen.

Still, I like Newt; and appreciate his experience. As a nation; we are desperate for reasoned and 'seasoned' thinking. Do hope his talents are not discarded along with his candidacy. Can see Repubs, doing just that.

But hey; maybe not. . .

Translation: Cain should be the nominee because he’s black.

He might just get a donation from me, but money is tight, it won’t be much.

Cain and the grassroots/teaparty folks of which I am one, are going up against all the movers and shakers and their money. The big money doners all wanted Christie and word is that now they are going with their money to Romney. If we want Romney out and Cain in, then we have to give what we can to Cain. It is not enough to vote for him in the primary, I am in Oregon, the candidate will be chosen long before the primary in my state. All of us posting, need to give whatever we can afford to Cain.

>>It’s moot now that Newt moved to Virginia, but “No Elector may cast votes for Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates who both inhabit the same state as the Elector. It is, however, possible for an Elector to cast his votes for candidates from the same state, if the candidates’ states are different from the Elector’s.”<<

The quote you provided is a bit misleading. It should read something like “No Elector may cast votes for BOTH the Presidential AND Vice Presidential candidates....” Under the 12th Amendment, the Electors could vote for one or the other, just not both of them at once.

#61 is rubbish on all fours with what the left said would happen if Obama were elected. People sure are gullible.

Funny Romney just said he and Cain are exactly alike. Romney:” Herman Cain and I have the same backgrounds. He is a great guy. Vote for him or me and you’ll be happy” New Hampshire 10/10/2012.

So if you vote for Cain you get Romney and if you vote for Romney you get CAIN.

OH H*** NO.

Cain is NOT Conservative.

>>Statement: Would like Newt to be other half of ticket.

Reply: That would kill it. Cabinet member, yes. VP, no.<<

I know it’s premature, but who would make the best VP choice for Cain? My personal favorite would be John Bolton because he’d fill in the foreign policy weak spot in Cain’s resume.

I can’t see where we’d be perceived as kowtowing to dictators with Cain/Bolton at the head of the government. It would also be a hoot to watch a Bolton/Biden VP debate.

The president is not a dictator and much of what Herman Cain says he would do cannot be accomplished without significant political skills.

IMO, it takes significant political skills to successfully climb corporate ladders.

Right. Getting things done is about finding the right people, relying upon them to help sort through the issues, deciding as the manager what to do, and then managing your people effectively so they stay on task.

Obama found all the wrong people, thinks he knows more than they do, and then still set them free to do whatever the hell they personally thought would be a great idea. No management, political or otherwise, at all...until something blows up in his face, like Solyndra, Fast&Furious, the Boeing factory fiasco, and now the weird support for the Occupy Wall Street hordes.

A Herman Cain-headed ticket for 2012 would be unbeatable. It would also represent a new dawn in America where gratitude, confidence, and initiative would overwhelm the resentment, anger and ingratitude so characteristic of left-wing political culture.
When the "neutral moderator" tried to get the rest of the field to pick on Mormonism - thus on Romney - Cain demurred, saying that he was not running for theologian-in-chief. That was far better than getting into the theological weeds where the interviewer wanted to lead him, but there is IMHO a better answer.

"Ducking the issue" assures that he will be asked the same question again; reframing the issue and answering it will assure that no journalist will want to come anywhere near that issue ever again. The answer should be, IMHO, along these lines:

There is one theological issue which divides us between conservatism and "liberalism."
That issue is not whether Jesus is God, but whether envy is a virtue or a vice. The Tenth Commandment straitly warns us against it:
"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour's." - Exodus 20:17
You can respect that commandment, and teach others to do likewise, without being a Christian. But if you do not respect that commandment, worse if you teach others not to respect it, that has practical consequences which deeply worried the founding fathers of this nation and which deeply concern patriots of whatever religious conviction.

The self-anointed "99%" bunch boasts of their envy, accusing others of greed in the process. And we have a president in the White House today who promotes those people in their envy. I don't think that any Republican candidate is willing to promote envy as if it were a virtue, but if there are then let them stand up and say so before we nominate them.

Your point is absolutely correct, but I might add to this one:

1976- Ford (moderate)-Dole (then more Conservative)...LOSS

The conservative Reagan was also a big part of that choice--he DID with the Texas primary.

Tell me why Cain isn't a Conservative. Romney saying Cain is like him means nothing, and I guess you missed the attacks Romney made on Cain. Cain hasn't betrayed the nation by supporting illegal immigration and giving these lawbreakers instate tuition which law-bidding American citizens in the other 49 states wouldn't be allowed. Just because you're supporting a liberal career politician who can be shown not to be a Conservative based on his support of several very liberal illegal immigration policies, that actual Conservatives do not support, that not only gives these criminals rights and benefits that American citizens don't even have, but also acts as an incentive that promotes even more illegal immigration, doesn't make Cain something he isn't by all evidence. What can you tell me about Cain that is even remotely as liberal as what Perry not only supports, but actually enacted, which hurt Texas and the country and shows that Perry is a supporter of illegal immigration and panders to them. He has capitulated to Mexico with his views and action. People like this are pretty much traitors and that's not an exaggeration.

I will not vote for Perry no matter what. I don't care if he's better than Obama on other issues. All we do anymore is choose between two people who will continue the destruction of the nation at different paces. A candidate doesn't have to be in agreement with me on every issue to get my vote, but there are certain issues that are so important they make your other positions pointless if you don't have the correct view on them. If you aren't on the right side of all those issues that will destroy the nation then you shouldn't be elected. Being on the wrong side of illegal immigration isn't any more crazy than the foreign policy of Ron Paul who is always called crazy. I wouldn't vote for him even though he's got it right on illegal immigration since I don't agree with him on other things, and I won't vote for someone who has views that are just as crazy like those of Perry just because it's a more popular crazy policy that both parties pretty much ignore or support, and are completely out of touch with the majority opinion of American citizens.

I won't vote for either Romney or Perry. I know Perry is better than Obama, but who isn't? Obama is probably the worst President in our history because I think he's the only one that has a dislike of the nation, and not just stupid liberal views like the other bad Presidents. Every single Republican in the Primary is far better than Obama, including Romney, but I know many will not vote for Romney if he wins the nomination. Romney is horrible, but you can't argue that he isn't better than Obama who is bad even for a liberal Democrat. Perry is done anyway and people need to accept that and move on to another candidate. He won't regain the support he lost primarily because of his actions on illegal immigration unless he finds a way to travel back in time and change things. Supporting illegal immigration basically makes you a traitor and agent of Mexico since you are helping them take control of territory that they resent losing and giving their weak and corrupt government influence over us, which they obviously already have a significant amount of which is why illegal immigration is one of the issues that so many politicians differ with the majority of American citizens on.

As shocking as it may sound to call these people traitors it is not an exaggeration, and is obvious to those who look at the facts. That's why we hear nothing negative about the Mexican government that has been proven to encourage and even show people how to illegally invade our country in what would actually Justify war against Mexico. I actually believe they should be strongly warned to discontinue their governments involvement in encouraging this invasion and providing pamphlets that give information on where to cross and what to do once in the U.S., followed by an actual attack on that cesspool if it's discovered they are still involved. Destroy their government and let them continue there own war with each other. Perry mentioned sending U.S. troops into Mexico to help fight these drug lords, which just makes it sound even more like he is controlled by the Mexican government because they are actually a bigger threat to the U.S. with their expansion campaign that has basically taken back parts of the territories they lost in the past.

The Mexican government is responsible for the deaths of many Americans because they are complicit, along with several politicians in the U.S. who sympathize with illegal immigration, in all crimes committed by those illegals such as rape and murder. Mexico is a bigger threat to us than a country like Iran. Iran will never be capable of destroying the United States while Mexico is literally in the process of taking over the U.S. right now. Guys like Perry are helping them.

Excellent comments Norseman and I concur completely. The canard that he doesn’t have ‘political’ experience is absurd on its face.

1. Obama is the least experienced president we’ve ever had. Does anyone have his college grades yet?

2. Cain is 65 years old and an experienced businessman across a variety of fields.

3. What have those with ‘political’ experience gotten us so far?

I’m with Cain.

You have no isea what you are talking about.

when you have the Mexican Drug Cartels working within the United States with the Aryan Brotherhood AND The Iranian Government.

This NATURALIZED citizen that was handling the financing for the murders on AMERICAN Soil, didn’t sneak thru the border. He walked right in.
He was a resident of Corpus Christi close to the MX border.
The Iranians were to provide the Zetas with tons of Opium (herion) to sell to who? No wonder americans can’t put to reasonable thoughts together.
We are a Legal and illegal drug Country looking for easy answers to hard question.

No wonder Obama talks down to Americans. He first hand knows how stupid the Ameican People really are, they elected him didn’t they.

But hey Cain has 999 developed by his SUPER DOUBLE SECRET Econ advisors. For people that claim they want transperancy. settling for a Snake oil salesman is a little strange.
Guess you can’t wait to pay double tax on everything you buy INCLUDING food. For peopl on fixed incomes that will be subjected to a double tax increase, this 999 plan is 666.

Cain has NO legs in a general election. In fact it would be a easy victory for the worst President this country has EVER had.

For the first time in my adult life if the Ann Coulter tean of Romney/Cain or Cain Romney is the tickit I will not vote. PERIOD. I will not be party to the futher distruction of America.
