Really; it is bizarre to hear that mantra repeated ad nauseum while anyone with eyes can see right through it. Groceries, gasoline, metals, etc. are all up, but we’re supposed to believe there is no inflation. Maybe they’re right, because the increase in all of those items might be offset by the decline in value of our homes.
As long as Social Security payments are tied to inflation, there are billions of good reasons for the official line to be: there is NO inflation.
