Thanks ‘’82’’ I was right about the CIB, correct?
I didn’t serve, so I don’t know the medals.
All I knew was the kid looked like he had never left home but he had more salad than an Olive Garden.
I was at Clark Air Base in the Philippines about a half century ago. One of the APs at the main gate (we called it “Checkpoint Charlie” after the one in Berlin) was wearing his regular 505 (khaki) uniform, with all the Air Police stuff: pistol, whistle, cuffs, etc. He also had a CIB over his left breast pocket. It turns out that he had been in the Army, in Korea, ten years earlier where he was awarded it. Got out of the Army, then enlisted in the Air Force. So it’s possible. But not like the Senior Master Sergeant pictured here.
