Nice words - now if you can answer my question, I’ll know you’re not a Perrybot.

Because when it counts, money and organization matter. Cain does not seem to be translating any of this polling success into actual money and campaign infrastructure.

And just HOW does Romney expect to take down Cain, given that the Tea Party is behind Cain? Lack of moderation, lack of DC experience, lack of principal...

Because time and time and time again, Republican primary voters default to the safe option. Questions of electability and defeating Obama first and foremost will dominate decision making.

As well spoken as Cain is, he is a political novice and when it comes time to take him down, the media and Romney's opposition research backed by huge amounts of cash won't have a hard time doing it. Romney will just plant enough seeds of doubt to knock Cain out. Cain has received little real scrutiny yet, once it begins they will pick through everything he's ever said and he will have to answer for it. No matter how much you like him, it's easy to destroy a candidacy that way.

Sorry, this is just political reality. You can believe Cain is going to ride this wave all the way to the nomination, but the people who put the big bucks where their mouth is don't seem to agree. This is the kind of thing you see almost every election cycle. Some grass roots favorite does well but can't attract enough money to compete when it counts. It's always possible Cain will be the exception, but I doubt it. Gonna come down to who can raise the biggest pot of money and build the best state campaign teams - that is likely to be Romney and Perry.

Here is Romney just today speaking of Cain:

"We each have our own experiences, he’s a great guy. Vote for either one of us and you’ll be happy," Romney said, per POLITICO's Reid Epstein.

That is NOT something one says about a candidate they view as a serious threat.

“Because when it counts, money and organization matter. Cain does not seem to be translating any of this polling success into actual money and campaign infrastructure. “

Considering that he’s been in the top tier for what, a week, you sure sound awfully IMPATIENT with him.

“Because time and time and time again, Republican primary voters default to the safe option. Questions of electability and defeating Obama first and foremost will dominate decision making. “

Just like they did in 1980 when they nominated that NUTCASE over the safe bet of a VERY HIGHLY experienced politician. So cut the crap on this one...unless Cain HIMSELF implodes, we’re all ready to pull the trigger, just like I did in 1980.

“As well spoken as Cain is, he is a political novice and when it comes time to take him down, the media and Romney’s opposition research backed by huge amounts of cash won’t have a hard time doing it.”

Based on what, his spoiled upbringing. The fact that if it wasn’t for quotas he’d be doing dishes. The fact that he can’t read better than a Third Grader. Well, we’ll see.

“Sorry, this is just political reality. You can believe Cain is going to ride this wave all the way to the nomination, but the people who put the big bucks where their mouth is don’t seem to agree.”

It didn’t work in 1980, so we’ll see. I, personally, don’t vote for whom I’m told. It takes a lot more convincing than some TV commercials. I vote for the CONSERVATIVE who doesn’t coddle illegals.

“That is NOT something one says about a candidate they view as a serious threat.”

No, this is what someone says when they don’t know how to deal with a surging black opponent, because that doesn’t fit any template in the Republican Party (sorry for the racial part, but it does fit here). He (and Perry) simply have to be very careful, until their well-paid pollsters can figure out a strategy to deal with Cain. I doubt either of those guys have spent much more than a week on him.

Milt may be just as clueless as Juan McInsane was when he told the American public barry the bassturd would be a good president if he won.
