I have never learned to trust The Guardian. I admit it is entirely possible that Egypt’s Military Junta is behind the murder of Egypt’s Copts. But my natural inclination is to believe this was sectarian violence, with an Egyptian democrat not wanting to admit her country is succumbing to Islamist violence. I guess I reserve judgement for now. In the end, no matter if my instinct is right or wrong, it was still Muslims massacring Christians. If it were the military, why bend towards the Muslim Brotherood? Nothing good can come of it no matter the reason. Is it too soon to count Egypt as lost?

There is no dilemma. The army is mostly made up of... (drumroll) Muslims. As is the army leadership. As would be expected in a mostly Muslim country.

And the army leadership isn´t stupid - they know which way the wind blows.
