I am currently listening to his book “Conquests and Cultures”, and he goes into great detail on that very subject. Funny how the most prolific slave merchants (over the longest period of time) have been Muslims, and how muslim countries were the last ones to ban it (and even still engage in it despite banning it for PR purposes)

They don’t have those facts in today’s textbooks in schools.

Conquests and Cultures is an amazing book. I’d second the recommendation for anyone to read it.

I have “Conquests and Cultures” on the shelf. There’s a standing reward for any child who finds a Thomas Sowell book I don’t already own at the library sale, used book store, or thrift store.

He covers the same ground in a section of “Black Rednecks and White Liberals,” too. One interesting point was that there is not a noticeable black population in the Moslem world, outside parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, in spite of the huge numbers of black slaves imported. They died, instead of (as it were) colonizing, as happened in the Americas.
