That head on a stick is Lloyd Blankfein, head of Goldman Sachs.

Lloyd Blankfein is a nice Democrat. Gives lots of money to Democrats. Oodles of money. So do most of the clowns at Goldman Sachs.

I’m perfectly happy to see left-wing rabble beheading left-wing donors, even if only in effigy.

Conservatives shouldn’t get in the way of left wing rabble wanting to take down their own bread and butter.

Our over-the-rannge microwave recently died.

When I went to the appliance store I told the salesman I wanted to look at anything except GE or Hotpoint. He asked why and seemed surprised when I told him.

Ended up with a Maytag and we're very happy with it.

I would be willing to bet that had some Chinese-made parts in it. The fact is, there is no computer made in the past 10 years that is even 50% made in America, and probably not even 25%. Very sad. And it’s going to hurt us in the long run now that all of the computer and component makers have moved overseas - we’re giving the Chinese too much control. Look at what happens with a memory manufacturing facility catches fire - prices shoot up everywhere, supply is constrained, etc. Now think about China manipulating it artificially.

“But that’s okay as long as they’re getting away with it and the shareholders are happy?”

Don’t shoot the messenger. I’m simply pointing out the conundrum presented to many freepers. Actually, it’s not a big issue for them....

A corporation’s #1 job is to make money for shareholders.

End of story.”

Actually their CEO (Immelt) is my problem. As Obama’s “Jobs Czar” he gets behind the podium and scolds business owners for complaining about the government as his Corp. pays no taxes.

He also scolds small business owners for not creating jobs, all the while, over the past 3 years he has shipped 36,000 jobs to China.

HYPOCRITE. End of story

To be honest, GE finance businesses lost a ton of money in 2008-2009 due to the recession. They paid no US taxes in 2010 because they were able to deduct those losses from their income which is standard practice for any corp.

The minute I see or hear someone start with, "To be Honest" or "In all honesty", or "Truthfully" I know that either a full lie or some twist of the truth is coming.

In this case, truthfully, and in all honesty, and to be completely honest, you are merely quoting the results of GE Financial Services and not the Corporation.

In 2010 GE made over $5 Billion in profit and paid ZERO US income tax dollars.

There are numerous tax shelters and dodges, and GE uses everyone of them.

I against any corporate income tax, so I don't blame GE, but I do blame you for your "honesty".

The management of the GE tax department are former members of the Treasury Department and IRS. They cut every corner they can, which is fine.

They also extract special favors from government officials and have even had legislation/regulations drafted specifically to benefit GE. Upper management government employees know that if they take good care of GE there just might be a six figure job at GE waiting for them when they leave government service.

EVERY FReeper should have a problem with that.

Geoffrey Immelt is a corrupt crook of the worst kind. GE was always one of American’s great, innovative, dependable companies. He has taken it and made it into a crony capitalist venture company, headquartered in China, that pays NO TAXES at all. And he has given enormous donations to Zero, who has made him his chief corporate consultant.

If that isn’t crony capitalism, I don’t know what is. Who is going to make the jet engines and the locomotives for our country? Chinese workers? What happens if we get attacked by China a few years from now? Can our defense supplies survive the sudden disappearance of GE over to the enemy?

Walt Disney used to be a great film company, until after the founder died, and a gang of corrupt leftists moved in, changing it from a company that made family films like Snow White to a company that made gross anti-Catholic films like Priest, and even pornography. That has changed since, because moviegoers refused to put up with it. I hope GE has the same experience. Immelt needs to be kicked to the curb, and without the usual billion dollar parachute.

Uh, no. GE bribed Bush and later Rangel and friends for an exemption from taxes on income from foreign leases.

“EVERY FReeper should have a problem with that.”

Should is the key word. Is a corporation a citizen? Does a corporation owe anything to anyone other than the shareholders?

When one discusses off shoring of jobs, the answer to the questions above is “no”, according to many freepers.

So, why would that answer change now? As long as it’s legal, then anything a corporation does, that enhances the bottomline is good.

To some FReepers, anything a company does to make a buck - even if it’s illegal and it doesn’t get caught - is a great thing. They are one-issue (fiscal) conservatives. Just saying.

Using your logic, Ford, GM and Chrysler were wrong to cease producing passenger and commercial vehicles to aid in the war effort in WWII.

Their appliances are junk - and we have had enough of them to speak from experience.

We will never spend another dollar on anything manufactured by GE.

“The minute I see or hear someone start with, “To be Honest” or “In all honesty”, or “Truthfully” I know that either a full lie or some twist of the truth is coming.”

Right. You see the world through a tin-foil hat. I get it.

“...you are merely quoting the results of GE Financial Services and not the Corporation.”
GE finance business is part of the “Corporation” and I doubt that its taxed separately.

“In 2010 GE made over $5 Billion in profit and paid ZERO US income tax dollars.”

Not that you care about the truth but the link below might explain the situation so that even you can understand it.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/report-it-looks-like-ge-will-pay-taxes-for-2010-after-all/

“There are numerous tax shelters and dodges, and GE uses everyone of them.”
If its legal I have no problem with that. Do you pay more taxes than you need to?

“I against any corporate income tax, so I don’t blame GE, but I do blame you for your “honesty”.”

It’s not my fault that you are naive enough to believe everything you hear from the NYT and the rest of the Democrat/media complex.

All I know about GE is that we have to pay a loan at interest to pay for their bailout, while I keep seeing advertisements on TV for GE Capitol to lend money at interest.

Pisses me off big time.

We have Government Electric to go with Government Motors.

I hate National socialism as much as global communism. Way too many of America’s richy riches have gone off the deep end. It reminds me of French and British Royal inbreeding problems. The “smart” people are stupid and corrupt.

Immelt doesn't need us any more. He's a 'globalist' or so he told us via Lesley Stahl on 60 Minutes last night.

And, I don't need him or what he's done to the GE brand. I sold my GE stock (since Immelt, GE's stock has dropped 60%) and will not replace my GE kitchen appliances with GE models, won't buy their light bulbs or anything else with GE's name on it and I avoid any of their subsidiaries.

He won't feel it, but my life is cleaner without them and my conscience is too. FUJI!

The tea party and its allies are taking aim at GE for a number of alleged sins, including the company's paltry 2010 federal tax payment, an aviation joint-venture in China, moving jobs overseas and taking federal stimulus dollars...

Then they must really hate Boeing.
