GREAT ! My suggestion for a political slogan comes from former Radio Announcer Paul Harvey:
WHEN YOUR OUTGO EXCEEDS YOUR INCOME, YOUR UPKEEP WILL BE YOUR DOWNFALL.
I would propose a more Dickensian way of putting it:
“Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery.”
There’s also a little reminder somewhere that a “folding of the hands to rest” and your “want arrives likes an armed man.”
