The style of text is often harder to read at many other websites (gray text, for instance). Here on Free Republic we can read in the font and size of text that we choose in the browser (using Safari on my MacBook, I find that the font called "Chalkboard" is very easy to read).
By the way, that's a couple more reasons for older and newer members who have never donated yet to help FR.
