SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Federal authorities in California vowed to shut down dozens of pot growing and sales operations in a major crackdown, saying the worst offenders are using the cover of medical marijuana to act as storefront drug dealers.

The aggressive crackdown comes a little more than two months after the Obama administration toughened its stand on medical marijuana.

Prosecutors Friday described it as the first coordinated statewide offensive against marijuana dealers and suppliers who use California’s 15-year-old medical marijuana law as legal cover for running sophisticated drug trafficking ventures in plain sight.

Yes, that's marijuana cotton candy. And these are just the treats they are devizing for kids just under the "medical dope" scam.

Federal authorities ... vowed to shut down dozens of pot growing and sales...

These Feds are insubordinates, that are way off the plantation. Seems to me its just a matter of time before the guy at the top puts a halt to this!

Don't they understand that the regime they are part of only enforces the laws they agree with?

I have been watching the documentary “Prohibition”..it is excellant and not at all boring. Also Boardwalk Empire very good on this topic.

Its like watching what is going on now—a total redux—with ATF, The Feds, the gang crime, the disrespect for the laws, the politicians and crooks and legal system getting rich.

Give it up. Decriminalize it. Portugal is doing very well with decriminalize it( not making it totally legal). Tax it, regulate it and enforce all the same laws we have
with alcohol.

BTW, there was more drinking during prohibition than after it was repealed and it was legal to drink. ha.

We have no law prevent you from moving to Portugal, I am sure they would like you there as well.

“Yes, that’s marijuana cotton candy. And these are just the treats they are devizing for kids just under the “medical dope” scam.”

As if the illegalization of alcohol for kids under 21 has somehow done away with Malibu Rum and Boone’s Farm. It’s not like going after these stupid pot stores will suddenly stop sales of the stuff, it’ll just make it MORE likely to get into the hands of kids because the stores and the stuff’s makers will go back into the hoods again like meth labs have. When Obama agrees with you and thinks these should be shut down, maybe something is wrong with the way you think.

Go ahead with your War on Drugs....

I don’t care personally about marijuanna or drugs , but I am tired of paying millions in taxes for this futile effort, filling prisons, having gangs roam our cities, letting our politicians get rich on this and getting ATF SWAT teams killing innocent citizens.

Yeah, the War on Drugs...one GIGANTIC failure.
Its the ultimate definition of insanity.

Duh, don't bogart it, that's what "medical marijuana" is all about.

Well I tell ya, I am against pot. But this is a state’s rights issue and I want the Feds out of it. What’s to stop them from picking other issues? Nothing, that’s what.

"Obama [..] thinks these should be shut down"

lol. yeah, just like he thinks we should still be in Iraq and Afghanistan and that Gitmo should still be open.

The federal government is not a direct expression of the president's brain, despite what the media might tell you.

Bummer's on your side on this one.

Do what, I thought that you were posting how wonderful Portugal was, I have been there, not bad, but you probably would really like the place. Plenty of welfare, lots of pot, fee munchies, etc, etc. Do not know about medical care, but then pot smokers live forever. My dead cousin could swear to it, but he is dead, smoked pot most of his life.

No, the big-money pols like illegal drugs. Where's the profit in legal ones?

How can you control a population if they are not criminals? We need more laws and more criminals.

Yup, the Prohibition documentary was great.

All through it I was thinking how silly prohibition was and how it was so much like the war on some drugs is now.

Had to capture a copy of it to see some parts again...I have all the Ken Burns documentaries. Someone on FR the other day said they all have a banjo being plucked in the background..lol
(this one did not..but the others really do)

Will order the blu ray when it’s available (I hate the logos on the over-the-air copy)

That puts the feds squarely at odds with the states. The states need to make a strong stand on the 10th amendment.
