the very word 'cancer'...is inserted way too often, into our public consciousness and creates not just 'awareness' but fear, which in turn, can invite 'the thing in itself'.

Very insightful. I tend to agree, with reservations. I would never want to imply that someone with cancer had brought it on himself. I think it has more to do with the body's immune system. I believe that cancer can live in one's body for decades, doing no harm, and then, because of a stressful situation, it gains a foothold and spreads. The fear you mention could be the kind of stress that could actually help to activate dormant cancer cells.

Agree. . .but it is amazing - not, perhaps - how much of our Media; Advertising; Public Warnings et al; are devoted to disease and the 'threat of disease'.

All day long; we are bombarded with the negativity of these things. In addition, we are to 'check'; check. . .exray; exam, 'be suspect' ad nauseum, IMHO. And then there are the prescriptions/anti-dotes; with accompany the horror of health warnings, of course. Enough.

Would be nice,if we could stop the disease fixation and just 'rest' in health/lol. ..and take a break from what appears as just constant 'harbingers of disease' at every turn/look/listen.

Reminders to 'breathe'; would be a nice change; should they feel compelled to 'say something'./lol.
