This is Governor Palin's speech in St. Louis on Oct. 7th, her first speech since her announcement that she's not running for president. I think, based partly on this speech, that Palin will a significant influence on who the Republicans nominate for President. There's a great deal of substance here about "crony capitalism," and also an intriguing suggestion that some sub-set of the Occupy Wall St. movement might be susceptible to her critique of crony capitalism, and might be open to actual, non-crony capitalism. But she also suggests that these protesters "please just, eat a bacon double cheeseburger and maybe be a little bit happy, some of you folks on Wall St., protesting." (There's no clock on the video, but these last remarks are at about the 80% mark.)

Anyone can stand back and criticize, but it takes a real leader to jump in and and SHOW people how it’s done.
Wow I...I wonder who she’s talking about?
hee hee hee.
I dont know, but she sure sounds like William Jennings Bryan.
Can’t get the video to play...bump for later.
Who cares?
Yada, yada, yada.
I’m at the point where, with respect to the three GOP candidates currently left standing, I have no preference one way or another. I’ll vote for any one of them in the general, but I’ll be voting against 0bama, not for the GOP candidate.
When I finally get a chance to vote in my state’s primary (by which time it’ll probably be all over but the crying), I’m writing in Palin.
My advice to other primary voters: if you have a strong preference from among the current candidates, by all means vote for that person. But if you, like me, think every one of the about equally flawed, then write in Palin. I’d love to see her consistently get 5-6% of the vote in every state. For those who protest, “But that’ll just hand the nomination to ________,” I say, who cares.

She will be on the Cain train shortly.
Even Romney - and I’m not a fan - is far better than Obama. Even if Romney does nothing, a Republican Congress can begin to reverse the damage, without fear of a Presidential veto. So writing in a candidate - an effective vote for Obama - is pretty destructive.
She would be far better to leave the capitalism part out and call it in a leftist term fascism or interventionism.
Capitalism is not the problem.
just saying
I am very disappointed with her decision. Will this speech get any press at all? Has it? Her “voice” is now very small because she has no real power and is not a threat to hold any real power. She’s not a Rush Limbaugh who can influence by virtue of a radio network. If she wants to have any real influence this isn’t the way to do it.
Watch the video on Conservatives4Palin.comm about TEA Party video on Romney to run in Iowa.Romney will not survive Iowa after this video.
What would really make heads explode is for Cain to get the nomination, then pick Palin for his VP! Game Over!
>Capitalism is not the problem.<
Crony Socialism is just as bad.
She has the EXACT right message for these times, but had she run, could she have really gotten that message out, or bascially have it buried by an avalanche of media lies and smears and the non-stop three-ring-circus they would hang around her neck? In the 2008 election, her fine record of governance in AK never even really got out at all.
Not running diminishes her megaphone somewhat, but in the long-run, she might actually accomplish more this way. Going up directly against Obama’s billion-dollar war chest and the rabid media who salivate like wolves to chew her to pieces is too blatantly a suicide mission. Best to stay in guerilla mode to keep the message alive.
Yep! I agree totally! We have enough politial pundits and she really has nothing special to offer anymore.
Pay attention to what I wrote. I wouldn't dream of writing in Palin in the general next November. I'll be writing her in in primary balloting; whoever wins the GOP nod gets my vote in the general election.
