Oct 6 (Reuters) - Mexican trucks will start crossing the U.S. border again in a couple of weeks, reducing transportation costs between the two neighbors by some 15 percent, Mexico's Economy Minister Bruno Ferrari said.
The resolution of the long-standing cross-border trucking dispute should give an additional boost to Mexican manufacturers, who have been fighting to increase their market share in the United States.
"If you take into consideration that Mexico's manufacturing costs are at least 25 percent lower than in the U.S., this is going to be a very strong competitive advantage," Ferrari told Reuters in an interview late Wednesday.
Mexican manufacturers have been in a fierce battle with Chinese exporters to gain market share in the U.S.

Lots of our automobile replacement parts and many farm tractor original parts come from Mexico. And nope, our governor had nothing to do with that, trade with Mexico ,and their trucks coming here has been going on since before Rick was born.
Thanks.
Mexican Trucks had always been allowed in within a 25 mi radius of the border.
I thought it was 100 mi.
At any rate, this really does change the impact of the matter.
If Mexican trucks become long haul truckers with access to the entire US roadways, Our Trucking industry will be hurt.
The upside of this is that Obama just stabbed Jimmy Hoffa Jr in the back.
Having owned a trucking company I can tell you that this is not a good thing for American trucking or America in general.
Well, I’ve been arguing that we should send tanks across the border.
This is a bad law.
It appears that this was all a part of NAFTA
Introduced by George H.W. Bush and signed into law by Bill Clinton.
It will hurt our long haul truckers.
I was hasty in my early comments on this article, since it left out lots of FACTS.
Well that’s just great. Now the Home depot parking lots are going to be full of Mexican trucks again. SHEESH. ( that’s where the troopers take them when they run inspections on them.
Wonder how many fams will be squashed this time by Mexican trucks improperly loaded and not fit to be on the road.
He and they know exactly what their doing.

Americans do not need to work with all the free services available, bringing in a comfortable $37k @ year on average.
Mexicans, on the other hand, are poor, downtrodden, and desperately in need of employment. Truck driving is easy - just point it in the right direction, depress the accelerator, and apply the brakes when at your destination.
Obizmo, Soros, and Lewis know exactly what they are doing, so sit back, drink your beer, eat large snacks, watch the 52” plasma, collect your bennes, and shut up.

And part of the reasoning Perry had for pushing the TTC. All part of his open borders policy.
It is amazing that the Rooters article completely avoided mentioning the key issue of this legislation.
The fact that this bill will allow Mexican truckers to compete with US long haul truckers.
This legislation will hurt millions of American truckers and Trucking companies.
I was under the impression that Mexican trucks were restricted to a certain radius within the USA.
I don’t think Perry’s involvement in the TTC was all that simple.
NAFTA is law.
Perry has to deal with it in a way that benefits Texas.
We didn’t like the way he was doing it and he scrapped it.
But it is folly to think that he would have build a road Canada if there was any chance that it would have ended at the Oklahoma border.
Yes yes... it is all Part of Rick Perry’s diabolical plan.
He signed NAFTA into law.
At least with the TTC we could have limited Mexican trucks to a corridor to Canada.
With the law Obama just passed the entire US long haul trucking business is in jeopardy.
Will any of this pizz the union truckers off if there are any?
Could get ugly.
Yes this makes sense. How many Chinese trucks have you seen on American roads? ;-)
So, here we are.
Perry’s TTC was stopped by popular revolt.
A corridor that would have limited the damage to our trucking industry by limiting the Mexicans to a corridor to Canada rather than access to the entire USA.
Now We have Obama handing the golden keys to all the truckers of Mexico to compete with all the truckers of the USA.
Some how Perry looks better in my eyes now.
Man you need to do more research on what he said about it before you make comments like he scrapped it. Your going to end up looking really, really foolish on that issue.
First of all he was FORCED to not push it publicly and second he said that they would continue working for it but call it something else. Either someone has been snowing you or you are purposefully not telling the whole story.
I think that with this new bill from Obama you will never hear of the TTC again.
They just got the golden keys to the entire US trucking industry.
I dont know if you are addressing all that to me or just using me to post but youre not doing Perry any good nor are you going to convince me. Perry is for open borders, said so himself, is for the TTC, said so himself, and encourages illegals in Texas. Along with that he cozies up to Muslims. Aint no way I could ever be convinced to support or even vote for anyone like that.
At least I have stopped this thread from devolving into a shouting session about drunk Mexican freight liner drivers and Rigs loaded with illegals.
Now, we are having a proper discussion.
