Now there goes a REAL character! RIP, Mr. Davis.
Now the Raisers may actually get and retain good, modern management. Al singlehandedly kept the franchise in the 1970s mode of play and kept them from winning. It used to be the winningest franchise of all professional sports, but has been largely irrelevant for the last 20 years. That said, Davis still was/is not the worst thing about the Raiders. That distinction goes to the lowlifes who sit in the stands. Raider fans are the worst class of people, and just when NorCal had been nearly rid of them, Davis moved the team back and the fans came wriggling out of the trash and filth like cockroaches.
I’m a patriots fan, and in the lead up to last weeks game, somebody was relating the story about how crazy the Raiders fans were… He said when they entered the parking lot. There was a little old lady in the wheelchair flipping the bird with both hands… The other announcer said that was no little lady that was Al Davis!
