I had what I called chilli’s last year but was clueless. They were actually small savannas, but this year they came out the size of bananas and are smokey flavored! I went crazy and added all the hot ones this year and had no clue how many plants I had in two 15 foot rows. It turned out to be a LOT! And each plnat just cranks out peppers like mad. They made up for all my other failures (and now distant successes with potatoes and beans). Something about clay, coal slag and drought makes these into super peppers, it’s certainly not my doing. I used almost 500 peppers to make Chili powder back in June and it seems like the more I pick, the more that grow back. It took almost all summer to grow one cherry pepper (very hot) at the top of each of four plants. I harvested them last month (all four) and now there are three on each plant! What I’ll do with a dozen hand grenades I don’t know. They are cherry red and their capsaicin index is off the scale. Only Titan’s goofy black dog will eat them.

Quite the unexpected experience then, huh? I'm guessing they will give you more right until the first frost?

Nighty Nite, sweet pea.
