LOL, I've never heard of loading 'a round of bullets into the chamber' before. This must be some sort of new handgun along the lines of Steel Rain.

If this is true, wouldn’t the bad guy have given himself a self-inflicted stoppage? Two or more objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time (with quantum physics perhaps being the exception).
