RE:”I don’t respect conservatives who show up on too many liberal shows. Liberals are the Jerry Springers of the world - or worse... and we don’t need to be feeding their delusions

I dont respect Republicans that go on liberal shows and let themselves be made to look stupid or that waver under questioning. The most obvious is RINO Steele who gets paid to go on MSNBC everyday and make Republicans look stupid, and there are some others there too like RINO Lazio.

Alternatively there was a delusional hoax theory that conservatives could and did have a uber-conservative ‘candidate’ that was going to only give ‘interviews’ on very friendly shows and never have to take a real question on anything. The way that legend went was this uber-conservative was going to waltz into the WH without even doing a debate let alone an interview. We we told it was brilliant because it had never been tried before and would catch everyone by surprise."Just wait and see" we were told over and over.

Who was promoting this non-sense? Those few media outlets that were rewarded with ‘exclusive’ interviews for throwing softball after softball, hint : AM radio. But like all dreams eventually it had to come to an end and wasnt pretty.

Cain has guts and brains, that impresses me. He is (appears to be so far) real and honest.

Exactly. Too often Republicans end up looking like idiots, which is why they are invited on. Cain doesn’t do that, and I suspect he knows that he won’t be invited back, but it is a way to get his message across and his name out there to people (esp independents) who watch those shows. It isn’t a bad way to get some swing voters if you can handle the heat and so far it looks like Cain can.

SoL, you are correct. Conservatives cannot afford the delusional approach of thinking that we can operate in some sort of bubble or vacuum, granting interviews and interacting only with media outlets and talking heads that are perceived as being favorably inclined to the conservative point of view.

Like Daniel in the Bible, true conservatives need to be willing to walk into that lion's den, knowing they have no friends on PMSNBC, ABC/CBS/NBC/NPR/etc, and stand their ground, defend their positions, and take no crap. Look at Rummy, he went into an interview with a sneering al-Jazeera propagandist pretending to be an 'objective' reporter, and when that yammering yokel tried to attack Rummy, he got his ass handed to him and it wasn't on a platter of falafel either.

Herman Cain is of the same mold. He has faced all sorts of adversities and challenges and he continues to stand tall.

Like you, so far I like what I see, and Cain is a damn sight better than Romney (an unspeakable choice) and Perry (an open borders disaster). He's 20 points ahead of Romney if you believe Zogby, and that says something. Even 10 points ahead would be considered a major development.
