For those of you who've pretty well settled on the Republican Party's vice presidential nominee next year, Sen. Marco Rubio has some news for you:
It won't be him. It won't be him.
The freshman Republican senator from Florida said it twice:
"I am not going to be the vice presidential nominee. I am not going to be the vice presidential nominee."
The 40-year-old American-born son of Cuban exiles is a former speaker of the Florida House. He's a fiscal conservative and a tea party favorite who came from virtually nowhere to knock Gov. Charlie Crist out of the GOP Senate primary race last year. And then he went on to defeat Crist and Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek in the general election by 19 points.

Unfortunate.
I distinctly remember Joe Biden telling reporters this same thing outside his home one night 3 days before the announcement that he was Obama’s choice.
I love marco Rubio. If asked, how could he pass up the opportunity to be the first Hispanice to ever ascend to the office of Vice President of the United States?
The news just keeps getting better and better every day. You’d think this was the most popular President since Monroe. They didn’t even bother to nominate an opponnent against him for his re-election.
So long as the 2012 GOP nominee picks a good VP and we will have a lot just from our current contenders, the comparison to Biden will be in our favor. A LONG tape of Biden gaffes will be easy to assemble.
Senator Rubio is young enough to see several presidential cycles and is only going to get better as the years pass. Do I see a President Rubio? I do like the sound of it but I prefer longer seasoning, especially after the current 2 year Senator that now lives at 1600 Pennsylvania!
“Unfortunate?”
Just how? Marco Rubio is in a much better position, staying in the Senate, to help the country than as our Vice President. With the growing prospect of Romney (ugh!) as our presidential nominee, we need to make more certain than ever that we not only re-take the Senate but make it veto proof. Even if we oust FUBO, the Senate will have to ride heard on Romney.
Marco Rubio is a good man, but he is no more a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN than Obama is. His parents were not born here. Therefore, he is no more eligible constitutionally to be POTUS (or VP, for that matter) than Obama the Usurper is.
Marco Rubio good guy that he may be is not eligible. I’m sure he probably knows it and has enough integrity not to put himself up for a huge controversy. If the GOP puts him on the ticket there will be a big uproar, lawsuits and a large number of conservatives including me who simply will not vote. All bad for our party and country in a time of turmoil.
The abomination sitting in the White Hut right now is the reason the founding fathers wanted only a natural born citizen to be VP or President. That is a person born in the US of two US citizen parents. I’m not comparing Marco Rubio to Barry Soetoro but there are reasons for everything the founders did and for the most part they were good reasons. Marco Rubio will be a terrific senator and he can always run for Gov of Fla or be in a highly place cabinet position.
Ye, but there is a huge difference between a conservative and a liberal. Senator Rubio is a conservative
What makes you think Hillary is going to pick Biden?
He doesn't think much of being V.P., he may view it as "not worth a bucket or warm spit".
Wouldn't be the first, 10th or 20th, person who had no interest in being a VP, one man even turned down the job, when it would have involved no election (he was picked to replace a VP who was no longer in office, it would have been a simple house vote, and he would have taken it, of course he regretted it, and took it later on, kicking himself, lol).
Hear! Hear! I don't understand wasting outstanding Senators, Congressmen and Governors (Rubio, Ryan, Haley as just three examples) on the VP slot. These people are more valuable where they are than in the usually figurehead position.
ALL potential VP candidates express that they aren’t interested. Believe me, when the nominee calls Marco he will ACCEPT.
Congrats on being the FIRST Birth Bozo on this thread. Let's see. There are TWO types of citizens: Natural Born and Naturalized. Therefore you can let us know the date upon which Rubio was Naturalized.
Too late. You missed out on being the first Birth Bozo on this thread by just one post. Next time please be a little quicker on the draw with your Birth Bozoism in order to win the first place honor.
Speaking of bozos it seems like you show up on every thread that addresses the natural born issue spouting the same spew. Boring.
I’m still waiting for you to choose whether Rubio was Natural Born or Naturalized. Remember, these are the ONLY two choices available. Or did Tinkerbell conjure up a third category?
Still boring. Buh bye.
