Over the recent months different people have moved into my "fall back" category. And it seems (if he can hold up) that Herman Cain is my guy. He's no Sarah Palin mind you but despite a couple of gaffes here and there he seems reasonably solid.
Having said all that, I find it curious that about a week or so (maybe a little more) after his awesome showing in the Fl straw poll and Sarah calling herself his biggest fan, she should make this announcement.
The timing just seem to indicate that she too had finally found "her guy". Someone that is the closest to her she's gonna get w/o running herself. And indeed Cain gives Palin-like speeches, is outside of gov't and speaks his mind off the cuff much like Palin does. They seem to be kindred spirits, so-to-speak.
I have no way of knowing this factually, no inside scoop, nothing but I just have a hunch that these two will start to coordinate at Tea Parties together soon. Chisties out, Romney's the Establishment guy, Perry is weakened, Bachmann has become persona non grata. But wouldn't it be something to see these two (Cain & Palin) out on the stump together? They will try it and see how the primary/general voters react and my gut is the public will love'em.
Folks mark my words---I know it's way early but if Cain can pull off an upset got a feeling it'll be because his supporters and Palin's supporters will combine to put him over the top and then we'll see her on the ticket. My gut tells me this time next year we'll be supporting a Cain-Palin ticket (a much better one w/o the Mc).
How about Cain/Gingrich?
Can you imagine the debates?
Biden would be whimpering in a corner.
McCain/Palin 200812
Not a chance. None. Book it!
I'd rather there you on this!
erase the MC off 2008.
Take two aspirin and call me in the morning
However, consider the delicious irony of a Cain/Palin ticket to counter an Obama/Clinton ticket.
My gut tells me that if Obama's polling numbers stay in the tank, he'll either be pressured to drop out of the race (clearing the way for Hillary) or more likely, to drop Biden from the ticket and put Hillary on it instead.
If the latter happens, a Cain/Palin ticket will effectively cancel out the "historical factor" of the first black man/woman ticket that the Democrats will likely play to the hilt.
I hate race/gender based politics but if we are going to play that game, we could do much worse than Cain/Palin.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

I’m not gonna read through 148 posts so pardon me if you’ve already been told, but people who think with their gut have SFB.
Don’t be silly. Palin said she wasn’t running for President due to family considerations. She sure won’t take a second spot — for the SECOND ticket running — and go through all the grief again and not be the top banana.
Uh, No.
After listening to her on Bob and Mark today I’d say she is not going to run/pursue for any elective/appointment office. Sounds like she wants to remain a private citizen...
I don’t think Sarah would want it.
