What construction/pipeline experience I have is mid-80s in high school and doubt I would be wanted. Wonder what the outlook is for technical types up there? I have had some experience in arctic cold but that was early 90s in Norway.
This is about the affect on the area in more than just oil field jobs.
When oil field jobs suck up lots of the available labor pool, jobs in other fields are going unfilled, while the population boom puts greater demand on the whole area.
You don’t have to be a welder or pipe fitter. There are increased IT needs just because of the other work.
