The prosecution does not plan on asking for a death sentence for Amjad Awad, who pleaded guilty on Tuesday to the horrific murders of five members of the Fogel family in Itamar last March.
According to a report on Israels Channel 10 News, the military prosecution and the defense have reached an agreement, according to which Awad will be sentenced to five life sentences in prison.
The report stated that in order to impose a death penalty, unanimous support of all the judges in the panel is required.
The prosecution previously attempted to impose a death sentence on a Palestinian Authority police officer who was involved in the 2000 lynching of two reserve soldiers in Ramallah. In that case, one of the judges objected to the death sentence and the officer was sentenced to two life sentences.

Accidents happen...
Sure. They accidentally fell over a fence, stumbled into a house, and cut some people while shaving.
No, no. For something this horrific, followed by this crap, Ima thinking this dickwad got the “Accidents Happen” prepaid plan. He should be good to GO (to hell).

Oh. I get you.
Sorry for the confusion. I hope he gets it too.
Wow, if not for him than who gets it? Just awful.
Huh? Just what kind of heinous crime do you have to commit to merit the death penalty, then?
Vote for Romney.
He doesn’t need to go straight to hell, tho. If he gets made a quad for a while and wallows in his own excrement waiting to have his colostomy bag changed, that’s fine with me.
Let the judge who objected put him up at his place and feed him.
Somehow I think he’s been wallowing for a while. But what you said. Nice touch.
“We have a death penalty? Awright! Amjad not getting it? Wusses.”
This may seem unrelated, but bear with me.
In previous postings regarding Israel, I have stated that (even if mortally attacked by their Islamic enemies) they would never invoke “The Samson Option” of mass destruction in retaliation — they would be held back by something, almost intangible, that I would label as a collective “Jewish Guilt”.
The case in point is that even in the face of horrific murder, there is _something_ that pervades the Jewish consciousness that prevents them from “full revenge” against those who have transgressed against them. Thus, the refusal to seek the death penalty in this case.
It’s “Jewish Guilt”....
Just sayin’...
