Herman Cain's uphill pursuit of the Republican presidential nomination looked more promising Wednesday than it did just a few weeks ago, as Sarah Palin announced she wouldn't join the race and several polls showed him gaining ground.
The former Alaska governor said she wouldn't seek the Republican nomination, but would continue to push for changes she has championed in the past.
Also helping Mr. Cain: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's decision to stay out of the race and the decline in support for Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann.

The good news just keeps rolling in. All we need is for Perry to debate true to form so far and he will lose more supporters to Cain. If Palin stays out of the race and chooses NOT to endorse anyone yet, Cain will jump another 10 to 15 points in most polls. If she announces that she is NOT running AND endorses Herman Cain during that speech;
This race is over. Cain will be the nominee and the next POTUS.

I understand that folks over in Palinville are probably pretty bummed right about now. I will NOT (in print) enjoy a schadenfruede moment at their expense.
I was a “Fred-Head.” I understand.
I hope that they will consider supporting Cain as the next most acceptable TEA Party candidate.
yep.
I was a die hard Fred Head and he pissed me off so I do understand. Cain is the man.. I am a honkey for Herman.
The race is not even remotely over. It has hardly begun.
The media is doing what they always do. Lull the conservatives into thinking things are going their way then turn the tide of public opinion at the right time late in the game.
They ARE the game, they aren’t reporting news. They’re kingmaking. Don’t let them. The poll reports will be used to play with our emotions until we are wrung out. Don’t let it.
From your keyboard to God’s ears. I hope you’re right. Who’s to say Sarah won’t get a cabinet position in a Cain administration.
Start printin' the tee shirts with THAT slogan....you'll sell a million of 'em!
She’s a perfect fit at Energy.
To say I’m disappointed that Sarah isn’t running would be a gross understatement.
Will I support Herman Cain? You betcha!
Heard Mr. Cain on Glenn Beck’s radio show this morning and he (Cain) was great!
We are so hosed.
Cain was my second after Palin. It’s Cain all the way.
We were Fred-Heads also.
To say Im disappointed that Sarah isnt running would be a gross understatement.

I have been hearing those same things from friends across the net tonight. Thank you and God Bless.
I’d be happy with Sarah or Cain. Since she is out, Cain is my man!
No romney or perry for me.
Even though I’m a broke a$$ mo fo I’ll send Cain what I can spare.
Who’s to say she won’t come on as Cain’s VP?
If properly organized Cain could with his administration do more to unite races than the past 150 yrs in this country AND fix the economy...

I was also an enthusiastic Palin supporter, then drifted into Perry-acceptance, followed by (since the Florida straw poll made him realistic) a...

I like Herman Cain. Even as a private businessman he stood toe to toe and came out on with Bill Clinton in a mini-debate over health care. He would absolutely destroy Obama and Romney in any type of one on one debate.
