That was my concern - she could not let herself see her family be targeted by the man-eating media. The way I saw it, it was down to Sarah's family or her country. Her family won, but we all lost, I think.
Like you, I am deeply disappointed that she is not running, and I think there probably are considerations in play that may never be publically known that revolve around her family.
However, I am also of the conviction that there is a God in Heaven, and that none of the decisions of fallible humankind can derail His plan. If God means to show us mercy and spare our nation from the evil encroaching on it, he will raise up someone, or perhaps many someones, who can help us get things set right again. The Scripture says, cursed is he who puts his trust in man. And so it is. Our trust should only ever be in God.
