Right on.

We (ie, true conservatives) sometimes get all worked up about hot button issues that we tend to lose sight of the bigger picture.

I have even heard a lot of grumbling recently about how some conservatives are sad that they voted for McCain. In the general.

How can that be???

I’m damn proud that I voted for McCain (and my vote counted, as my state went McCain). Well, to put it more accurately, I’m glad that I did what I could to deny obama any EVs (not that I was thrilled with McCain...who could be?). Of course I have never and will never vote for him in a primary.

The sad reality is that obama is evil in the extreme.

Just one case in point.

Remember Elian Gonzales? Yes, we all do. As I understand it, the guy that sort of gave the final go ahead order to send Elian back was......Eric Holder.

Then with the election of obama, he becomes Attorney General of the United States.

And in that capacity, he sets up an illegal and insane policy of putting US manufactured weapons (thousands of them) into the hands of Mexican cartel members. These weapons are then used to kill American border control personnel (something Holder is fine with) and if they are ever confiscated, then Holder can say, “Oh my gosh! Look! These weapons are American!” and thus can begin a new round of infringing on the Second Amendment rights of American citizens.

See how all this works?

The Eric Holders of the world, just like the obamas of the world, have to be ousted, and we have the ability to do so.

Say what you want about McCain, but a McCain/Palin administration would not have engaged in this gun running operation. Nor would McCain/Palin have put Eric Holder of Elian fame as Attorney General. America would be MUCH better off with a centrist, or centrist veering left administration of McCain/Palin than the America hating, extreme far left administration that is in there now.

Nor would McCain/Palin have pushed forward the “stimulus” which has been the major drag on the recovery. Most likely, they would have done nothing (gridlock) and...we would now be in a full blown, real recovery.

All of that is to say, elections have massive consequence. We can’t get too worked up about a single issue and say that we are going to sit the election out.

(Not that what happens around here matters in the big picture....obama is going to lose no matter what happens in the GOP primary)

There's not much use for posters who show up here trying to provoke "conservative purists" during the primaries.

The primaries are exactly the time to be "purist".
