“I’m sure that many if not the majority of Sarah’s followers will do exactly that, but there will be a highly vocal minority of misfits, losers and malcontents who will not only refuse to carry the fight to our liberal/left enemies, they will turn on, and bare their yellow fangs at Sarah herself, after singing her praises endlessly, it only demonstrates the emptiness of whatever passes for their souls.”

Well said, and worth repeating. Also there are plenty of Palin bashers who are relishing this moment.

I still think Sarah’s great, I love her ideas pretty much across the board. One part of me wants to think she’s less of a fighter than I thought, but on the other hand I respect her right to do what’s best for her family. She is clearly a realist, and it may also be that she realized she’d not win after the constant pounding of negative media, and she did what she thought best for the country and the Republican Party.

Her dropping out has made me that much more determined to work hard on ousting 0 in the next election, and replacing him with a conservative.

Time for a new tagline...

Thanks for the kind words PL, although I have a different take on what you said about:

Also there are plenty of Palin bashers who are relishing this moment.

I don't think it's so much Palin 'bashers' relishing the moment, it is a very understandable reaction, "push back" if you will, at the over-the-top Sarah supporters here on FR (not all, but many) who created a cottage industry dedicated to trashing anyone who so much as raised the slightest question regarding Sarah's potential campaign, her positions, her actions, words, etc.

For those who were unwilling to jump on board the Sarah Express, there was nothing but disdain and a highly focused effort to demand that the "Not-Sarah" posters a.) reveal WHO THEIR candidate was in order for the P.R.R.T. ('Palin Rabid Response Team') to trash both the 'heretic' AND their candidate.

Anyone who dared criticize Sarah Palin was subject to any and all sorts of name calling, personal attacks, including slurs suggesting homosexuality and God-knows-what else. I think it was shameful that such behavior was apparently either condoned, or ignored by the moderators. And such tactics did nothing to rally support for Sarah, and did in fact (IMHO) diminish her appeal to many who were on the fence about a candidate.

Sarah has chosen not to run. I still think she represents some very solid conservative values. I was not convinced she had the experience necessary to serve as President. Of the 13 past Presidents (including 'Resident' 0bama-lama-ding-dong), Sarah's total executive experience exceeded only ONE of them, i.e., 0bama himself. Even Jimmy Carter had more executive (not to mention military) experience and yet we all remember how the Carter train wreck ended, and it wasn't pretty.

The answer to preventing future such cataclysmic political drama is to place our faith in our Constitution and our Republic, and focuse on candidates who "get it" and not only adhere, but revere what that precious Document stands for.
