First on CNN: Conservative group to target Romney
"If you support the principles of the Republican Party platform, as I do, then it's important that we make sure the GOP nominates someone who has supported and fought for those principles. On almost every single important issue facing America today, Mitt Romney has fought against conservatives and Republicans. He's been a liberal on fiscal issues, a liberal on social issues, and a liberal on national security issues," says Lloyd Marcus, Chairman of Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama, in a statement to CNN.

Sorry. I know you don’t. I was agreeing with you and then making other points.
I need to watch that as I got in trouble once before with another Freeper for the same thing.
Don't mess with Texas!
IMHO, the only way for Perry to overcome his position on in-state tuition is a statement similar to this ...
“My personal belief is that Texas did right by the children who are here through no fault of their own. However, the decision to provide in-state tuition is a states’ rights issue. So as POTUS, representing all 50 states, I would not push, support, or sign any legislation that trampled on the rights of states. Securing the border is a national security issue and, as POTUS, I would do everything within my power to secure it, including but not limited to, boots on the ground, advanced technology, and fencing where feasible.”
In fact, I believe the above IS his position, even though he has been unsuccessful in articulating it thus far.
Reparations and affirmative action? How so?
He has...
I have watched Cain in four interviews, “Fox & Friends,” “Imus,” “Hannity,” and “The View” say that he doesn’t believe the N sign, reflects how Perry feels about black people.
My family and I are so impressed with this man and we are on the Cain train... it would take a lot more than this incident to get us off.
Like I said, I have no idea how he’s going to overcome the illegal alien issue (his major down issue, IMHO), but he won’t overcome it by lying about it and he won’t overcome it by continuing to advocate for it as he is now.
Deport or not is not even the issue.
OK. Thanks for the explanation.
He said it in the first debate just as you did. It was a states rights issue. But in the next 2 debates, all the rest of the candidates were invited ro attack Perry’s posiion over and over again. You are right and he should stick with that position and turn it around on Obama for causing this problem for him.
His debate performances will improve. All of the other cndidates had not so good performances except for Gingrich and the one with the lawyer background.
He already fessed up to the vaccination issue as a mistake and sooner or later he’s going to have to recognize that advocating for the tuition issue was also a mistake. But too many mistakes is not so good either.
His enterprise zones would waive taxes, grant regulatory waivers, etc..
I believe he stated something similar to that but then ruined it by continuing to state that what he did in Texas was right and calling the rest of us heartless. Major misstep.
I know a lot of conservatives who would get behind Mitt if only he would show some passion and gumption. He seems to always be apologizing for something, Romneycare, etc. He used to be so fresh and dynamic. Many of us fear this would be “it is his turn” deal like for Dole and then even McCain, long after they were vibrant, even after Dole was shilling for Viagra(?)! LOL. It just draw no inspiration. To nominate such a fool. Mitt is not too old. But he seems to have lost a lot of lustre. The bloom is off the rose. But, but he can get it back if he acted like Herm Cain, Cristie, Palin, Bachman.
Don’t you agree the issue is overblown and its a states rights issue? Its not how we want our state to handle it for sure.
The other candidates have not had to deal with this problem at all to the magniturde of Texas and its easy for them to say what Texas should do. But is that fair?
We should walk a mile in Rick Perry’s shoes and then decide if his state is right or wrong.
We should also ask the other candidates to say what they plan to do wth the illegals that are here should the border finally be sealed. I bet it sounds a lot like Rick Perry.
They are praying they are never asked.
You are right that he said we are heartless and that was wrong. He said it was inappropriate.
Yep. And I chewed his @ss for it. We’re not heartless. We’re fed up.
Has any other candidate been asked to defend their mistakes?
We don’t even know much about the other canddates. But we sure know a lot about Rick Perry.
Should others be scrutinized the same as Perry?
If one doesn’t have a record then one can’t be judged, can they?
Talk is cheap. Easy to feed red meat.
I do understand your point just trying to show thay maybe we should give just a little bit of slack to Perry since he is the only one that has been scrutinized.
They should all be scrutinized, and I believe they are.
Mitt Romney is a filthy, disgusting abortionist pig, gun-grabbing, gay activist, two-bit big government lying political whore, socialist mandating SOB and global warming advocating bastard. And those are his good points. FUMR and the progressive RINO you rode in on!!
NOT ON MY WATCH!! NOT ON FR!!
Well, that’s that. Sarah isn’t running.
