For some it is really hard to un-know what is known. Restating a position is not a change of heart, it is only an attempt to cover the true position. When you speak from the heart there is no need to explain away what you said.

Perry is not going to win, but you are free to vote your conscience, as long as the RNC approves your choice. We have hopes that the next President will actually be chosen by the people.

**It is better to build up your candidate than attack the others.**

Well said! I have stuck to that rule and it works. You’re also taken a whole lot more seriously as well. ;)

I like Perry. I haven’t turned on him. I will never vote for Romney. Other than that, I’m open-minded. I just really like Cain. I like his life story, his business experience, his apparent hard work all his life, from school to the military to business. If he fades, I can support Perry. But like I said, I want to make sure we nominate a conservative who can and will beat Obama. I cannot take four more years of Obama and I can’t afford to move to another country!

You think he’ll still be in this race if he steps on his....”self” in the next debate like he did in the last one?

How about if he opens his noise hole and stammers like Bush on a bender?

You think he can get through two hours without doing either of those things? I’ll consider it a minor miracle.

Texan born and raised. Voted for Perry 4 times and last two times was with held nose. He won’t get a 5th vote from anyone in this Texas household even if it’s for dog catcher.

He did the exact same thing in the Texas debates (only worse in my opinion, I’ve watched portions of them and they are B.A.D) and he still won. So, yeah, maybe.

You'll believe what you'll believe.

I'm kind of leaning towards looking at someone's history as more of a predictor of future behavior, than being someone who trusts just campaign promises.

For example, take a look at what Texas is dealing with on the border and what the recommendations are here. It's demonstrates the lengths to which Texas has gone to deal with the issue.

As one of the big issues facing this country (apart from the economy and jobs), there's not anyone in the race that has had to roll up their sleeves and actually deal with it like Gov. Perry.

Like it or not, history plays a part.

As I've said, Perry's got his warts. But overall, there's not a lot of real-world, electable comparison.

IMHO, of course.

To me that is a sensible attitude. I’m with Perry the way you say you are with Cain. It’s early yet for crying out loud. If one fizzles, another conservative will take their place.

End of the day: NO OBAMA!

Thanks for posting that border report in it’s own thread. I had some others recommend it to me but I haven’t gotten too far into it yet.

In this primary, he’s got a problem. Most conservatives are rejecting the Romney/Perry/MSM spin of a two RINO race.

We are voting for Cain. Now I know that polls are notoriously untrustworthy but all of the national polls have Perry dropping like...well, do you remember the Wile E. Coyote ‘toons? He’d make a mistake, step off a mountain and plunge to his fate.

Herman Cain? BEEP BEEP!

You wrote, "...Perry blew his chance big time."

I'm curious. Did he blow it by saying you were "heartless", by his poor debate performance or by what he truly believes and who he is?

It's truly interesting to me.

Strongly Pro-Life

Strong on Border Security

Strong on the 2nd Amendment

Strong on business development

Strong on Job Creation

Strong on small federal government

Strong on State's Rights

Strong on lowering taxes

Strong on reducing regulations

What is it that makes you say he "blew his chance..."?

RE: I think there are a lot of crazy people on this site who are ruthlessly trashing Perry even though they also despise Romney.

That's because they'd rather have a president appoint more faux conservatives like Souter to the Supreme Court.

Mitt Romney is their Doomsday device.

I wholeheartedly agree, Doctor.

See Post #71.

Do you see any conservatives in this race, then?

You would be a great football color-commentator. I like the way you write.

Back to the subject: I like Cain too. Perry or Cain, it’s a win-win, as far as what I like in a candidate.

She likes Cain but has a problem with his lack of political experience:

I would NEVER hire someone as even a receptionist who hadn’t demonstrated that she or he had the skills to do the job. Many of you believe that the private sector is good experience for politics and I’d say being successful in business is a good launching board for politics at the state or even in the House or Senate.

That's EXACTLY why I like Cain. I AM SICK TO MY STOMACH with politicians. WE need LEADERS not POLITICIANS. End of story. I'm sticking with CAIN. Perry believes in free tuition to illegals... and he can go straight to HELL.
