The Occupy Wall Street “Leader” whom Michael Medved had on his show (the one who got a full hour and yet could not really come up with a reason why they were there, or what they hoped to accomplish) had an Ivy League degree, but his only job had been some part-time substitute teaching.
There are multiple lessons here:
1. Schools have become government subsidized businesses though the various loan programs available. Anything the government touches X times what it should with a virtual guaranteed payout for these “professors”.
2. A good number of chumps who go to school do so because they have no skills and expect to sit in school for 4 or more years and obtain the sacred medallion that will open the gates up to whatever position at whatever fantasy they have. No reality is instilled in these schools, no one cares to tell anyone paying 75K+ a year to study Woymn studies or ethnocentricity there are few jobs requiring those particular skill sets.
3. After being coddled for years at home and then in school, a good number of these dolts could not cope with being told NO.
4. A tough jobs market but last I heard, the unemployment rate for those with a college degree right now is about 4%. In other words, there are jobs there, take what you can get and work your way up or into another field...unfortunately the coddled feel the the job they want is “owed them” so they sit on their duffs, complain and fall back on their nitwit parents for expenses.
