We “Do Not Consider Perry a Factor… We Know Who it is Who Will be Our Nominee”
Race 4 2012 ^ | October 4, 2011 | Matt Coulter

Posted on 10/05/2011 1:03:21 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Those words were spoken today by Georgette Mosbacher, RNC Finance Co-Chair and huge GOP fundraiser, after Chris Christie’s announcement. The “we” is all the big bundlers, fundraisers, and money folks who have been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the field to be set — and that quote represents the coalescing around Mitt Romney that is expected to happen rather quickly now. Mosbacher went on to say:

“I think tomorrow, we’ll be contacting one another and probably put something together with Romney… And I would say that the race is now Romney and Obama. Quite frankly, the enthusiasm wasn’t there at the outset. He’s less conservative than a lot of us would like. However, our first and foremost goal is to defeat Obama. And we do believe Romney, in terms of independents, will be a strong candidate. We will coalesce behind him now… the time has come to get behind him… Tomorrow I’ll be on the phone all day. Quite frankly, it’ll be easier, because now we know who it is who will be our nominee. So we will pull our Rolodexes out and get to work.”

Fellow bundler and sideline-sitter John Catsimatidis added, “I’m going to go with Mitt Romney. I don’t think Perry has it in him to do it. He’s a lot better than Sarah Palin, but not a lot lot better.”

Ouch.

In related news, Romney also scored another major fundraiser from the Draft Christie movement: Ken Langone. Langone is the founder of Home Depot and is described as a “titan” in the political money scene. He backed Rudy Giuliani in 2008, helping Giuliani out raise the other candidates. There is evidence that a great deal of the money that had sat on the sidelines so far in this race will now fall into Romney’s coffers.

Rick Perry, for his part, got the endorsement of another Draft Christie member: Gary Kirke, a west Iowa investor and casino owner who had also been sitting on the sidelines until this afternoon.

But she’ll be in soon enough. I just hope she runs a fantastic campaign as, by all counts, she did for every race she was in in Alaska.

Easy ad: Christie's statement clip about finishing the job in NJ, vs. Palin "quitting" Alaska

What? The guy’s goose is cooked. No one’ll vote for him, right?

So what’s your deal?

I don’t spend hours posting about how McCain is a bad candidate from 2008... because it’s moot. Perry’s a moot point now, as everyone notes.

Which leads me to ask why?

Try answering instead of deflecting.

I’m with on that one, Mark. The GOP ain’t pulling my strings ever again. This is no surprise - the media’s been pushing him all along. The ‘rats and rinos are one party!

In 2012 I’m going unconventional!!

“But I will state on the record, right now that if Romney emerges as the nominee I will wholeheartedly support him. You can delude yourselves all you want that he might be as bad as Obama, but it’s just not true. We need to get rid of the anti-American in the office.”

I will state on the record, right now that we need to get rid of the people calling themselves conservative while posting BS like the above.

See post #210.

I would rather devote energy into a Conservative majority in the Senate rather than voting for a RINO...as regards the SCOTUS appointments.

Why?

If a RINO is in the WH, the Senate will rubber stamp any SCOTUS appointments. Even another Stevens, Blackmun, or Warren.

If we have a conservative majority in the Senate (a very reachable goal, btw), a Dhimmicrat nominee will be vetted. And vetted very hard.

Which one would be worse?

The problem is that Cain, Perry, Gingrich and Santorum are all wittingly or unwittingly playing the role of conservative vote dividers to enable a Romney victory.

My first choice remains the only authentic outsider candidate with the strongest credentials.

Which candidate is that? Bachmann, Huntsman?

I’m a Perry supporter and will not attack Palin if she enters. I consider her to be on Perry’s level. Both have executive experience, both from large energy states, both will go after the EPA, both are pro life and both are second amendment rights advocates. And I seriously doubt Palin will deport anyone. If she gets in may the best man or woman win. I refuse, however, to put Perry in Mitt’s category.

Again, read my answer. If you cannot understand English, take a remedial class.

No deflecting involved. You just don’t like the answer. Sucks for you.

If Georgette is going to wear a mu-mu, it probably shouldn’t be bright green. Lots of money, no taste.

It has the same cupric color, but she raises light of truth, hold a book of wisdom, nor does she look towards the rising sun. Georgette is no Lady Liberty IMHO...

You worry too much. They only thing we have to do is pray to the Lord Jesus for our salvation. Throwing money around is usually a waste. If your fellow voters give us another RINO, we are done as a nation. I don’t have faith in any man or woman right now but I do have faith in Jesus.

Here's an even more ridiculous pic of Georgette Mosbacher:

Sorry, but this garish witch isn't choosing MY nominee.

If you want to support the right candidates with your methods, that’s fine. I am going to send financial support.

Word on the street is Perry has at least 10 million this quarter. He also has been off in training apparently.

I can't wait to see the money numbers because it's gonna make everyone rethink.

I think Palin may wait, if she's getting in, until Bachman leaves.

Who gives a flip about what liberals want! Besides Cain will throw his support to Romney - that’s a given. Then everyone will see how ‘conservative’ he really is!/s

Well, the window is closing. And there will be ONE person on the ticket. And with all this backstabbing from conservatives it will be Romney.

Rudy lost because of a badly run campaign, just like Perry at the moment.

But I still view Perry as a viable candidate because he may still turn it around.

Your statement is not true. Cain and Perry are certainly Washington outsiders. More so than even Palin and they have been campaigning for President. This notion that candidates who are spending money mixing it up should step aside when Palin enters is bogus.
