ATF agents who have testified before Congress about the program said the idea was to "trace" those weapons, but the tracing ended up being a total failure as GPS batteries ran out and thousands of guns were lost in Mexico and only found at final violent crime scenes.

This is the first I've heard about the guns having tracking devices. I remember Rep. Darrell Issa and Sean Hannity talking about them NOT have tracking devices.

It has come out before that two guns had makeshift tracking devices that failed.
That leaves another 2,000+ guns that never had any kind of tracking device.

The tracking is key to unraveling this. To my mind there are three main possibilities:

STUPID: They wanted to track them, but were incompetent.

EVIL: They did not intend to track them in order to use the resulting bodybags to bolster the argument for taking away RKBA in the USA.

CORRUPT: They were allowing the guns to go to the Sinaloa cartel, and were taking sides in the war between CDS and Los Zetas.

I remember similar discussion. The comments I remember came down to questions about why these weapons did not have tracking devices at all. These weapons did not have any tracking devices. This told me that the purpose was not to track them, but to dump them into the drug underground so that it would create as much havoc as possible.

It is time we initiate the impeachment process now!

Well, they have said weapon from the border officer’s murder, check it. Providing it doesn’t go missing, has been tampered with, etc..
