The family of GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry owns a hunting camp in Texas known to many locals as “Niggerhead,” a name that appears on a large rock on the property. Perry claims his father painted over the name as soon as he bought the land, although some in the area dispute the governor’s timeline. Niggerhead was a fairly common place name in the 19th century. How many racially offensive place names are still around?
Hundreds, at least. It’s impossible to say precisely how many offensively named towns and geographic features remain within the nation's borders. State lawmakers don't always agree with the federal government on geographical labels, and people have varying levels of sensitivity. (Is Florida’s Jew Point offensive, for example? What about Indiana’s Redskin Brook?)

Apparently the MSM has been checking out cities, towns, hunting grounds, campsites through out the USA on their witch hunt. Coon hunting is offensive? what about coon dogs? Gringo Gulch? I am white and it does not offend me at all...soon we won’t be allowed to say that snow is white or a dark night is black. Don’t we have better things to do?
TexMom, it is an article by the media trying to stir the pot over names of towns, hunting camps, etc. They don’t want the Perry issue out of the msm. Someone did some research and looked for any towns that had “offensive” names...how long will the pc cops continue with their witch hunts?

The Perrys merely leased the land so that they could hunt on it during hunting season. It is not and never was their land. The land is owned by the Henderick Home for children.
There is a small peak in the Adirondacks north of Raquette Lake called Niggerhead.
