Actually she was interrogated for 56 hrs. how would anyone have stood up to that endless barrage without their story changing...especially when police officers already had woven their own story of what happened...and their questions were framed to get the answers they were seeking.

Those familiar with how investigators do their work have stated these tactics used can and do obtain information that they can weave into any scenario they want......Additionally you have a very young gal believing the police are trying to solve a murder....not implicate you....it was a messy job from the beginning.

And don’t forget she didn’t speak Italian four years ago. Imagine a rapid fire interrogating in Italian with a stumbling translator getting the questions and your replies out of sequence. With the interrogator asking you to speculate on what could have happened and then calling it a “confession”. This is right out of a bad movie script for a Pink Panther farce.

This tragedy makes me appreciate our constitutional rights even more.

Never voluntarily talk to police if there is the remotest chance they might view you as a suspect. Always ask for a lawyer to be present at any questioning.
