Newly released emails show a Democratic donor, as well as officials inside the White House, were expressing concern more than a year ago that now-bankrupt solar firm Solyndra's financial situation could deteriorate and prove "embarrassing" for the Obama administration.
The emails were released Monday by a Republican-led House panel looking into Solyndra, which filed for bankruptcy last month after receiving nearly $530 million in federal government loans. As with other internal emails that have been disclosed as part of the investigation, the documents reflected uneasiness with Solyndra among those inside and near the administration.
A Democratic fundraiser, in a May 2010 email, warned the White House to be "careful" about a planned trip by Obama to the California company.
Steve Westly, a Silicon Valley investor and Energy Department adviser, said in the email that he and others were worried that Solyndra might not "survive long-term."

What happened to short term?
One thing Obama really belives IMHO.
It’s his money he can spend it any way he wants to.
So far the House has let him do it.
I always read that the House has the keys to the money,. but the way Obama hands it out it certainly appears to me that Obama spends whatever he likes , wherever he wants to.
It times to jerk a knot in this white House, that is running wild with EO’s , spending, EPA and other regulations. The Congress better WTFU .
PS. One of the problems is that the Congress and Pelosi, Boxer, and Feinstein or their husbands, in particular, all have their hands in the till.
Obama gave Half a BILLION DOLLARS of OUR MONEY to a big donor of his so that he in turn could make a big donation to his election.....imagine if this was Bush!!!
Steve only cared that they didn’t get caught stealing our money before election.
QThat’s our money they are throwing at these risky start ups. Plus these Solyndra managers could have taken the $ and run. 530 million is a huge chunk. I hear the building is rather overly posh.
Stephanapolous interviewed him on solyndra and gave him a total pass on the B.S. answer he gave.
Where’s Boehner? So quiet, so invisible, so being blackmailed. (IMHO)
No wonder he cries.
Welcome aboard! What the hell took you so long!? I called for his IMMEDIATE resignation years ago, as well as his IMPEACHMENT! But the real question is are those photos on IHATETHEMEDIA.com real?? and does Moochella have a penis?
So Ann are you suspicious this is a money laundering scheme?
Tony Rezko would be proud...
All Democrats are proud.
Lets not have any talk of impeachment. Remember, we want this clown at the top of the Democratic Party ticket on Election Day. If 0bama is at the top of the Democrat ticket in 2012 it will mean the GOP pickup of at least 5 more Senate seats than if anyone else were at the top of the ticket.
If theft of $500 million isn’t an impeachable offense then I don’t know what is.
Although it’s unlikely, we need to have it on the table to keep hauling these crooks in front of these investigative committees.

I'm all for investigating the White House for Solyndra, Fast & Furious and all other scandals, but the GOP should not do anything about those scandals. In the last six weeks of the election cycle, the GOP then needs to run ads making voters aware of the 'Culture of Corruption' in this White House. Then...let the voters take out their wrath on the entire Democratic party for it.
Excellent point, I keep trying to use common sense as an explanation. It doesn’t work. There is none.
