Italian uproar erupts after Amanda Knox acquittal
The Daily Caller ^ | 10/03/2011 | Stephen Robert Morse

PERUGIA, Italy — It was silent in the courtroom for a long time after Amanda Knox, the now-exonerated American woman, was led into an Italian courtroom for the last time. A presiding judge spoke. We heard not a word from the jury. And then she was declared “innocenta.”

And then anger erupted in the streets outside.

News crews — mostly Italians — alternated between filming and shouting “Vergogna! Vergogna!” (“Shame! Shame!”) for the first five minutes.

A mass of people took up the calls of “Shame!” outside the courthouse, and in a second gathering area nearby.

Italy's Corriere Della Sera newspaper reported that the angry mob on the streets of Perugia also shouted "Bastards!" and "Bought!"

Foiled their fascists, huh. Shows to go you what happens when you elect yourself a mad man who joins up with another mad man like Adolf Hitler. They’d rather have stayed fascist?

In Italian brands it’s Barilla or De Cecco. In American brands it’s a close race between Columbia and Prince.

A scared, stupid kid finds herself in a foreign jail, accused of murder, with no attorney present, no Miranda protection, facing a legal system that presumes guilt and is getting grilled for 56 hours straight with no sleep. You don't think that would lead to lies of desperation? Of course you don't.

You don't want to look at the DNA evidence that was botched in the trial and then came out in Knox's favor on appeal. You don't want to see the phony eyewitnesses the prosecution invented. You refuse to acknowledge that the confessed killer sits in prison with his sentence cut in half so that a weaselly psychotic prosecutor could indulge in his class warfare and anti-American hate.

And I'm the idiot?

I pray to God that the only way time you ever darken a courtroom door is as a plaintiff or a defendant because you are beyond unfit to ever sit on a jury.

Yes I agree. Barilla is what Olive Garden uses. You can buy in bulk at Sam’s. I’ve been making my own with a food processor and with some practice it takes like 5 minutes...

I have not followed this case but if the conditions you described were true then false alibi(s) would be excusable.

How can one have an alibi if they were sitting at home or a secluded area by themselves? Under the conditions you described I can see how an immature young woman who was studying in a foreign country might lie to “create” an alibis. There needs to be plenty of physical evidence/reliable witnesses to back up false alibis. I guess the evidence was not enough to keep her locked up.

Ok...I just read the link. Now I’m confused. Sounds like Ann Coulter is off base here. Sounds like this guy Guede was the killer. What happened to him?

“You refuse to acknowledge that the confessed killer sits in prison with his sentence cut in half so that a weaselly psychotic prosecutor could indulge in his class warfare and anti-American hate.”

From post 165. Although I’m not sure about the “confessed” part. Some inmate in the jail said that Guede confesssed that he did it with another guy, but that Knox and her boyfriend weren’t there. But, who knows if what the other inmate says is true or not. BUT - his DNA was found inside her, outside of her, a bloody handprint on a pillow under her body, bloody footprints, etc.

Many more details throughout the thread.

you dont read much do you ,I was convinced that she was guilty ,it was the spin in the UK Daily Mail

along with the verbal tantrum the prosecutor threw in court, that convinced me ,knox was being tried by the UK press and being railroaded.

I’ve read much on this. After reading Ann Coulter I was convinced she was guilty, but after reading this I concur with you post.

Ann C. messed up on this one big time. No way this girl should be convicted.

Sounds like this guy Guede was the killer. What happened to him?

He was convicted and sentenced to 30 years. Then the prosecutor approached him with a deal to knock half of that time off in return for testimony against Knox and Sollecito.
