Soon Texas will also be dealing with their Muslim population in ways they never anticipated......again, thanks to Perry's self-serving use of govt power.

Denial is working against them in every way....though they see the problem now...they refuse to accept common sense solutions, and the fact that they are part of the problem.

I gotta agree that Texas denial is both understandable and problematic. Texas has a history of fierce independence, I get that, but much of that independence grew from a Texas willingness to do what needed to be done, not looking the other way.

Here in Michigan we have a reputation as the "muslim" state but the fact is that we rank about 6th. Texas also makes the top 10 list coming in around 8th.

I've seen the Texas election maps by county and things aren't as rosy as republicans want to believe. There are a lot of democrat voting counties in Texas and the border counties form a virtual democrat wall. Meanwhile in Michigan our loss of population seems to be translating into firmer GOP control. (democrats are leaving)

I don't know about your numbers but I do know:

Michigan universities set own rules on illegal immigrant tuition ratesAs political hot cakes go, Gov. Rick Perry's support for his state's guarantee of lower cost in-state tuition for illegal immigrants attending Texas' public universities sizzled at a recent Republican presidential debate.

Twelve other states have similar laws, even as others have banned the cheaper home state tuitions.

But at Michigan's public universities, the rules depend on the school…………"
