"Christian belief system does not easily allow for other intelligent beings in the universe."

Nonsense. Aquinas (800 years ago) said that the countless myriads of angels are so diverse, every one of them could be a differernt species. That's way more than enough diversity to account for intelligent beings in any number of quantum universes.

Why would this be a problem? Is God incapable of creating intelligent beings on other planets?

absolutely...not a problem!

So if the reverse is true (there are no natural space aliens), is MSNBC willing to admit the reverse - that it supports special creation? We have many statements from evolutionists about how 'easy' it must be for life to evolve and how widespread it ought to be, etc. So are they willing to make their beliefs falsifiable?

The biblical view of an entire universe that has fallen and is corrupted as the result of Adam and Eve's sin is inconsistent with the idea of intelligent space aliens. I can't theologically rule out the possibility of all ET biology (such as the equivalent of algae or simple life forms), but it's a safe bet within biblical doctrine that there are no ET's comparable to man.

Relax. The physical universe is just an illusion. It really doesn’t exist at all except in the mind of the ego.

I always hate it when some SciFi author writes that religion was abandoned as soon as people went into space and saw there was no heaven above the clouds. I mean seriously. That is so stupid and preposterous. It is insulting on a vast scale. I worship a God that is far more vast than an infinite universe and far more mysterious than all the cosmos. There has never been anything discovered that cast the slightest doubt on that and there never will be. I guarantee the day we meet aliens there will be people working on translating the bible into their language (assuming they don't already have it).

The fact it is silent on other intelligent species doesn’t change that relationship at all.

He said make disciples of all the nations. Not just the human ones.

What’s the problem?

God created angels, too. I don’t see any Christians or Jews having a problem with that.

Just more BS from the Libtards and Lefturds in the Lame Stream Media who are always throwing chaff out there, hoping someone will question their faith in God and become an atheist.

No big deal for me. God created the whole universe and isn’t required to tell me everything he knows.

—Christian belief system does not easily allow for other intelligent beings in the universe, Christian thinkers said—

No “Christian thinker” that I know and has actually read the bible would say that.

Who are these “Christian Thinkers” they quote and how do we know that is what they are?

And on a somewhat related discussio, the key word is “easily”. And what in the bible IS easy? Do they simply mean that the bible doesn’t say much about it, or do they mean the bible says it is “kinda sorta unlikely”?

Why would they be mutually exclusive? I don’t get it. Which is why I don’t get that evolution and god are mutually exclusive. *shrug*

What if there were pink unicorns in Brazil? What if there were trees that grew thick, juicy ribeyes instead of flowers and fruit? What if Obama’s stimulus plan actually lowered unemployment and balanced the budget?

Why would this be a problem? Is God incapable of creating intelligent beings on other planets? absolutely...not a problem!

God is certainly capable in terms of raw power, but for those who believe in the Bible it is not an option. Such an act would mean those other beings are suffering as a result of the Curse that God placed on the creation following human sin. That doesn't fit very well with the notion of a just God. Suffice to say a race of intelligent ET's (not angels/demons) would be a severe conundrum to anyone who takes their Bible seriously.

For Christians who aren't afraid of phantoms, we can confidently predict: there are no such ET's. We defy evolutionists and anyone else to show evidence to the contrary. People talk a lot about reason and blind faith, but it's funny who tends to rely on blind faith the most.

This alien-life story reminds me of a graduation speech by Ayn Rand to West Point cadets.

The speech became chapter one in West Point's Philosophy text, and can be found at http://www.tracyfineart.com/usmc/philosophy_who_needs_it.htm

So God created the entire universe just for little ol us?

Flattering... Also extremely arrogant.

Or, if there are ETs then there is no God? That’s a bit of a stretch.

The earth is "it", there are no civilizations on other planets. The Fermi Paradox.

(1) The Bible doesn’t make a definitive statement one way or the other the possibility of life on other planets. My gut feeling is to say their isn’t, but my get feeling doesn’t bind God in any way.

(2) IMHO, the Bible makes no reference to ETs in the end times prophecies, but there has been plenty of speculation (by some, this is by no means a mainstream interpretation) that the great delusion talked about might involve the appearance of ETs.

In either case, the only way the appearance of ETs could undermine the Bible is if the Bible isnt’ true. But since it is true, we can be sure that any appearance would fit in with the Bible.

After all, what if ETs showed up and said “We came to Earth to see the people Jesus died for, because Jesus is God”? Do you think that would undermine atheism?
