Rofayda Qaoud — raped by her brothers and impregnated — refused to commit suicide, her mother recalls, even after she bought the unwed teenager a razor with which to slit her wrists. So Amira Abu Hanhan Qaoud says she did what she believes any good Palestinian parent would: restored her family's "honor" through murder.
Armed with a plastic bag, razor and wooden stick, Qaoud entered her sleeping daughter's room last Jan. 27. "Tonight you die, Rofayda," she told the girl, before wrapping the bag tightly around her head. Next, Qaoud sliced Rofayda's wrists, ignoring her muffled pleas of "No, mother, no!" After her daughter went limp, Qaoud struck her in the head with the stick.
Killing her sixth-born child took 20 minutes, Qaoud tells a visitor through a stream of tears and cigarettes that she smokes in rapid succession. "She killed me before I killed her," says the 43-year-old mother of nine. "I had to protect my children. This is the only way I could protect my family's honor."

She eases her pain by doting on her three children still living at home, especially the youngest, Fatima, 9, whom she lavishes with kisses. The children say they've forgiven Qaoud and return her affection.
"My mother did this because she does not want us to be punished by people," Fatima explains with a shy smile. Leaning into Qaoud's arms, the little girl adds: "I love my mother much more now than before."

That last sentence, "I love my mother much more now than before", is bone chilling... what kind of people could feel like that?
I will say it. I hate these people more than anything on earth. I wish we could end political correctness and stop this cancer on the human race. They make me sick to my stomach.
And the brothers who raped her? They got a big old Muslim kiss from crazy mama - maybe more?
Would have been more appropriate for Mom to take out the brothers.
There is a common meme that this type of thing is part of the oppression of women as a group by men as a group. In fact, most of the women are big supporters and even participants, as can be seen by this case.
One of the most fascinating incidents in a biography of Andrew Jackson I recently finished was his war with the society women of Washington, who refused to accept the wife of one of his cabinet ministers because it was claimed she “had a past.” (Which she probably did.) It seems none of the men really cared, but the wives turned it into a major political crisis.
Ok, she was raped by her brothers and the mother thought honor would be brought by killing the victim. Did she ever think to kill the brothers.
The article says the brothers are in jail. Doesn’t say whether they’ve stood trial or what their sentences might be.
Diversity is our strength.

All cultures are equally valid.

How can you hate these people, it is part of their “culture” and don’t you know that it is wrong to condem another culture as being “wrong”.
If you were in a cannibal village visitiing it would be wrong for you to condem them and you would need to taste some of their tasty human stew in order to show your “respect” for their culture, in fact if you didn’t offer yourself up as the next main course for tomorrow night you would be commit and unforgivable “faux paus”. You should be more “accepting” of these “unique” and “diverse” “cultures”.

The only way to overcome an entire culture of death is to confront it with a culture of life. And that culture is within the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Simple genocide will not do it because it is itself a culture of death. This is at its roots a spiritual battle and must be fought on those terms.
Their twisted thinking looks at this situation as the girl is no longer a virgin, therefore no man will marry her and we must support her for the rest of her life, therefore she must die to rid us of the financial burden.
Wait until Fatima gets a few years older and her older brothers turn to her to satisfy their lusts. She’ll probably get pregnant too and we’ll see how much Mommy loves her then.
Mama is doting on Fatima. Until her boys get out of prison and rape her....then she’ll be in line for the plastic bag treatment. Lovely.
