I couldn’t agree more. He and Perry are like two peas in a pod.
If you think Perry is anything like Romney you’ve must of hit your head on something as a child.
We spent years attacking Romney before you even signed up here, bud. You can attack him all you want now, but we’ve already done the heavy lifting. Now, we have to stop fake conservatives like Rick Perry.
Romney is an empty suit - he will say literally ANYTHING to get elected. I have no doubt whatsoever that he could condone Cannibalism if he thought it would win him some votes.
I'm not advocating Perry is the answer - just that they are not the same.
Is he fake on Abortion? Gays? God? hatred of big government? Social Security? States rights?
oh! that's right! none of that matters, only rocks on deer leases and cancer vaccines matter!
Michael Savage said he would consider Perry to be about 80% of what he would want in a perfect conservative, and Romney about 40%.
Perry may be an imperfect conservative, but he is not fake. His positions on low taxes, limited regulation, pro- business, limited liability and tort reform have deep roots in his political record. He may have committed errors in judgement and rationalized some positions contrary to pure conservative philosophy. That may be reason to question his judgement, however it does not make him a fake conservative.
I think RINO is actually to generous a title for Romney.
McCain was a RINO.
Romney is a out and out liberal who ran to the left of Kennedy... let me repeat that again Romney when he first ran for the senate... ran to the LEFT of Ted Kennedy!
Heck I didn’t even now a left existed on the other side of Ted Kennedy!
It does to me. His record of cronyism and shady donor deals really isn’t overcome by what amounts to mainly lip service at election time when it comes to conservative principles.
The only thing I really like Perry on is tort reform.
Even with that, I still don’t believe that the man has any core values whatsoever. Which, incidentally, is exactly the problem I have with Mitt Romney.
If Mitt Romney had been trying to pander his way into office in a conservative state like Texas instead of MA, he would have been Rick Perry.
Put simply, the major problems this nation faces require more than a slick politician like Rick Perry could possibly provide.
You stopped nothing and did ZERO heavy lifting!
While you, and others, are off attacking "fake" conservatives, Romney is walking towards coronation.
That Senate campaign will tell you all you ever need to know about Romney. In the campaign Romney had made comments regarding the poor economic condition of cities like New Bedford and Fall River. During their debate, Ted Kennedy blustered at Romney “How dare you attack these towns. That’s Kennedy Country”. This was a wide opening for an astute politician to say “Yes, it is Kennedy Country. Has been for decades and look where it’s gotten them.” He could have built a deadly ad campaign using Ted’s own words. Instead - and this is the telling point that reflects the true core of Romney - Romney launches into a nonsequitor diatribe about how he’s going to break the glass ceiling for women. The key point of this is that Romney’s natural instinct when pressed is to move left, not by a small step but by a lurch, and he will do it at critical times. If you are supporting Romney you should prepare yourself for this. He will repeat it and you will be left slack-jawed at the self-defeating stupidity of his move.
Well, then you should consider supporting a better candidate, so you don’t let your support for Perry allow Romney to get the nomination.
People can’t even remember what was posted about 5 days ago, much less 5 years. Case in point, Cain’s statement the other day that he would not vote for Perry in the general election against Obama in the general, but could vote for Romney. You would think Cain saying something like that and it being discussed on dozens of threads with 1000’s of posts would be common knowledge, but ... each and every day I have to explain what Cain said to dozens of people.
If everyone is a noob as you claim, then how are they to have heard your “years” of attacks on Romney?
First, you do not know who I am supporting. Don't speculate.
Second, you spend more time here on FR attacking everyone EXCEPT Romney. Are you are a Romney-supporter?
Wow, you are a pathetic little agitator, aren't you?
Everyone is a noob? I simply made the statement that we were fighting Romney before YOU signed up.
People cant even remember what was posted about 5 days ago, much less 5 years.
Maybe you can't, but many of us can.
You would think Cain saying something like that and it being discussed on dozens of threads with 1000s of posts would be common knowledge, but ... each and every day I have to explain what Cain said to dozens of people.
Well, I certainly don't agree with Cain on that, but by the logic he was using, he'd support Perry if Perry would back off his boneheaded tuition for illegals stance.
I think that's very naive, because with politicians like Perry and Romney, you need to ignore their words and look at their records to see what they are going to do while in office. When one does that, both are clearly unacceptable.
That's rich. Who the hell are you again? What have you done to stop Slick Willard besides whining on Perry threads about how your precious one has been wronged?
